im new to archery and i was so confused why noone was talking about this lol it seems so important to me . even more important than some subjects that have hundreds of videos .
I used to do string pictures but my coach advise me not to he advise me to align my sight thru the curve of my vow where my clicker and arrow sits. I personally like the string picture cause it felt comfortable and more accurate. I guest my coach are teaching me how to sub-consciously shoot so he advise me not to use it for now.
Oh my god thank you ! I've been struggling with this for weeks,I got a good few ten and then suddenly a group of 8 out of nowhere but it parallel with the 10.I guessed it was my anchor causing my string to sit differently but i will try all the exercises.This clear up so much things for me , thank you !
I take it by “expanding through the shot” you mean releasing the shot, getting a clean release and watching the string picture move as it does? That one might be hard for me because I tend to draw, straighten up the bow and then align my string picture just before I aim and shoot. Although I know it could move as soon as I make the smallest movement, so it’s a bit awkward keeping an eye on both the point of aim and the string picture at the same time. Ah well what I did today with it seemed to work
Great question, it's personal in the end but a good starting point is on the inside of the riser :) once you are more comfortable you can find the exact position you like. Personally I put it on the middle of the riser, whereas some people put it on the edge of the sight pin or edge of the riser. The key thing is to get a position that you can locate easily and allows you to expand without moving the string picture.
I have 0.019 curve rx Pro, it's useless indoors and sometimes outdoors you can't get a consistent bright pin, it's too bulky and dominates your view..not ideal for field as it tunnels and setting the angle takes time to set for long distances which can't be used for short distances It's overpriced, you're paying for the build and engineering which is excellent
I “believe” my blurry string is on the left of my sight pin as a RH shooter. This way I don’t really have any reference as it would be having the string on the riser. Is it overall bad to have the string to far from riser ?
Hey Christian! Having it on the left isn't normally advised for a RH archer because it closes down the angle too much between the draw hand and bow shoulder and will make it harder to get the draw elbow alignment and smooth expansion. Also having it left is hard to get a consistent reference just because there isn't anything to set it on as you mentioned. I'd definitely see if you can get it further right, but it will take a fair amount of work and you will have some wide horizontal groups for a while as you improve this.
Online Archery Academy I can live with wide horizontal groups for a while. I need to be ready next year when I join the WMG 2021. Goal is to not be the last in that competition. But serious: what is suggested to move the string to the right side ? Basically moving the bow arm/hand more to the left ? Kind of “follow the string” ?
@@christianlohmann8577 It will normally be where you place the string on the face for your anchor, and your exact head position. I would definitely try first by using a light bow and closing one eye to check the string picture. This will make it a bit clearer. Once you've got a way to get the string more to the right and you can replicate it with the light bow it's time to test it with your normal bow and then during shooting.
