Best squad informative video I have seen yet, only thing I'd add is if you stretch the HAB away from the radio don't do it across a LDA (Linear danger area ie. roads, river beds). The enemy will use the open ground to hold off your counter attack to save the radio.
As much of a Squad addict as I am, I have actually lost an invasion game because of this exact reason. It’s only bit me in the ass a cpl times but when it does it really does.
I once blew up a friendly logi truck with a TOW in the very early game because I blindly followed a wrong callout in the wrong direction. A happy little accident, 9 happy small accidents.

Tip: Put a rally point near your radio. If your HAB goes down, you still have a spawn near the radio. Also, when you find an enemy hab, put down a FOB creation mark on top of the HAB and have your Squad search the radius for the Radio.
i have been doing that and everyone calls me crazy for wasting a rally.

@udaysaleen Well they're clearly morons. If you're putting down a radio/rally, you're most likely going to be building a Hab and Ammo crate shortly after, which you can use to pick up another Rally 😂 Alternatively, use the Logi to re rearm. No harm in using a Rally near your radio, and if they really want another Rally for another objective, then relocate it when necessary. 😂
I like to call the "sky as your background" phenomenon as the "hat on the hill". As an armor player I appreciate this tendency of squad players, especially tanks. I feel it is the only way I really kill any enemy mbts in the t62.
Common mistake for tank squads: gunner focuses turret when hull is exposed in close fights, missing the chance to ammorack. Note: does not apply for ZTZ, never aim for the front hull on that thing.
What I realised that many SLs do is the thing with the logi or the people not listening to the SL. Either the SL just lets the logi stand there or the one who was at the logi didn't listen and walked off. Now I will be the one who immediately says "Wilco" if the SL tells it. Also, I often made the mistake of skylining, when I am desperate or in a hurry. But 90% of the time I get picked off and now I need to restrain myself from running over an open field. Thank you very much for this video.
@@dreadedTanker3173 Good choice. Except when they're new. In my opinion they just need a bit longer to get it. But peole who straight up ignore the SL or their FTL should get the boot
Thanks for making this! I can actually say I do not do any of these mistakes, if I do it’s a risk I was willing to take atm. The logi Parked next to a hab or radio along with them both being right next to eachother is terrible game play and happens so often now smh. 1 1/2 ago you’d get your ass bit off for this type of shit. All Squad SL’s should have to watch this. I literally explain to ppl why all of these are horrible ideas to do except the fake hot drop with the chopper I’ve used it a few times for good effect especially on invasion.
funny enough one of my recent squad shorts shows me killing a heli who tried to distract us with a decoy radio hover 😂 we sent an entire squad after I got him
People don't really defend at all, they are also against contingency and backup plans as if every game is a certain and easy victory. A lot of Squad leaders drag their squad into hare-brained & ill thought-out plans and 10% of the team is now spending the game in useless endeavors. No one gives good calls during contact (usually nothing more than "Enemy! behind that rock!" or "Enemy on my dead body!"). No one seems to be aware of fire and maneuver, no one seems to understand assaulting the point with smokes and fire superiority and just kind of hide in a bush and snipe while the few that had the balls to get on point get slaughtered. The playerbase got problems.
I'd say when defending an objective with a FOB on it; not using emplacments and building stuff. It annoys me sometimes to see like 3.5k build and nobody is taking advantage of it.
@@A_Honcho I remember once on Chora (China Vs Us) I was forced to SL because he left. I decided to defend the flag next to radio station and turned the place into a little base. At one point we had 11k ammo simce my friend was constantly running logis. Luckily we won because our defence
Yea if you’re putting a fob on the objective you’re not going for concealment so superfob it however, make sure to have a second or third fob on the defense and make sure you’re still fighting on the perimeter outside the objective to engage enemies before they get too close. A superfob is honestly pretty damn easy to take down because people often wait inside and get slammed in 5 minutes because those walls honestly do nothing unless you’re fighting in front of them.
@@dkoda840 Yeah ,I usually hate putting FOBs on objectives, but if you fortify it.. Good luck clearing out all those frightened players that dont want to leave the FOB in a good time.
Squad wouldn't be what it is if the game just handed success to you ;), that's one of the reasons I like this game, dependent on a ton of trial and error, and learning from experience.
