Learn stop-motion animation with Kevin! I've been meaning to try this format for a while - a stop-motion lesson based on a simple exercise easily done with arts and crafts materials. It's still a bit tricky to show the addition of each new frame, but I think this came out fairly clear. I have some ideas on how to improve the exercises, but I'd be happy to hear what you think!

I downloaded this activity sheet. It helped a lot by understanding speeding up and slowing down and easing in and easing out. I used a piece of wire instead of string. Got to say the result was impressive. BTW I'm 57 and starting stop motion for my retirement. Thanks Kevin.

Lazy me would just take the first 1/4 of the pictures, copy, reverse and then mirror that bit 😇 …aaand this activity requires that you’re living in a country that still uses physical money 😅 Jokes aside, and yes I’m aware that this exercise works with things other than coins. The activity sheet is an awesome idea and just how my brain works! Hooray for Kevin!

Kevin I am really wondering why my camera has one background color and when an object goes in front it changes the bg color. It’s hard to erase with this. If you can give me an answer that would be awesome. Thanks!!

Here’s my question. Without the paper showing you how to ease in or out how would know how to ease when you’re working with puppet or some other objects?

You eventually just get a feel for it and are able to visualize it in your head. Combined with toggling the animation back and forth as you go
