Philippines and US have mutual defense treaty so clearly the US does have the “right”. China on the other hand has no right to steal Philippines territory and then complain when Filipinos fight back.

These incidents are occurring in the Spratley Island chain which it's disputed who owns the archipelago. China, Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam each want to make claim. I haven't heard of any altercations between China and Malaysia or Vietnam in this area (please send me link if there is) so i can only assume China has issue with the possibility of the Philippines setting up a military post on those islands as the Philippines relies heavily on the United States military, this would mean yet another stockpile of U.S. weapons in a location just over 1000km away from China's capital, well and truly within missile firing range.
What right does US have to interfere with another nation?? Does US have a right to tell voters they have wrongly elected their leader? Does US have a right to tell which leader they recognize? Even though the leader that US recognizes is not the one that the population voted for. US has not rights to meddle in another nation affairs. Like Ukraine, the Philippines has nothing to gain from American pawns. If a country works in moderation, no matter how small the country is, it can work safely. For example, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Bhutan, three of the smallest countries in the world, cooperate equally with all the powerful countries of the world. Those countries do not have any powerful weapons of war. But the people of those countries live without any fear that other countries will attack them. Countries that support certain parties in the Indo-Pacific power struggle have inevitably made their people insecure.
Bhutan also has territorial disputes with China. China has land borders disputes with all of its neighbors that 14/14 countries. And with their imaginary dash lines they now have disputes with 18 countries.
