I just bought my first rabbits. We hunt and I process the animals thanking God for providing. I lost my 19 year old son in 2019 to suicide and have been completely lost while smiling for everyone else. I’ve always been into gardening and herbal medicine and I love Jesus so much. I created a RU-vid channel called Casting Cove and overcame my fear of an audience. Filming has helped keep me busy. Last month I came across a lady that raises rabbits and bought a male and three female New Zealand’s. My husband is helping me build a two story hutch. I want to be self sufficient for myself, my husband and my eight weenie dogs. Possibly for friends and family. Rabbits are a lot smaller than deer! I came across your channel and I absolutely loooooove it!!!! You have given more knowledge and courage than anyone I’ve watched and I’m purchasing your books. That’s an inspiration from God. Thank you and keep making videos! I live in Hart County Ga. And when I saw you are from SC I thought how awesome! What part of SC are you in? I’m just off I-85 about 30 minutes from Lavonia Ga.
Thank you for sharing your story with me. I'm so happy you are finding your motivation to keep going after such a loss. I hope your rabbits bring a bit of joy to your days. We are on the other side of South Carolina headed out towards Myrtle Beach. I am speaking on rabbits this year in Dothan, Alabama at the Keepers of the Old Ways.. If that's close to you, you should come out. I will be speaking both days.
This was very interesting. Someday, you should have rabbit seminars similar to what other homesteaders do with pigs and chickens. A day of talks like this, experience in processing a rabbit or two and an opportunity to taste some of your rabbit recipes. I think people would be interested in attending. Love hearing your little man playing in the background💚
I have thought about it. I love traveling to different events to talk to others, but we live so far out in the middle of nowhere. I don't know that having an event at our property would be feasible.
Interesting. I had eight week old kits fight and squeal like piglets! I think it may have been due to one having malocclusion and being in pain, but not sure.
@@LivingtheHightLife parents did not have it and I did not see any injuries. My attention was drawn when further around his eyes started growing differently.
Most likely, depending on how aggressive they are. If you have made sure they have space and places to get away from each other, then it's on them. It shouldn't take more than a day to work it out though. If it's on going, reevaluate your situation.
Oh yeah. That's normal when they are trying to work out dominance. If I take my buck out to breed with a different doe and then put him back in, that start pulling each other's hair again. Same buck, out for only an hour or so and they act like he's a new rabbit. 😂
