Excellent video. Very helpful explanation of "disidentification." You referred to a forthcoming video on "The Conscious 'I'". I would really like to see that video. It'll talk about the two basic functions of the "I" - awareness and will, right?

Hi Timothy, thank you for good feedback. This video is still in the pipeline, and August is probably when it will be published. However, I have written a couple of brief essays on this particular subject here: kennethsorensen.dk/en/what-is-the-conscious-i/

You are your anger just as you are the part that attempts to witness yourself. Everything is you

Thank you for responding, Sophia. Can you tell me how you can be both the observer of something and the observed, the subject and the object?

@@psychosynthesis_selfmastery when your mind observes or witnesses the way your mind is behaving it never does it in real time. If you were upset, for example, and your thoughts are racing, over negative ideas, you are only able to recognise this in-between thoughts. You recognise that you are traveling down a negative path and try to detach from this harmful path by observing your thoughts but you never think two thoughts at once. You go from negative thought to being aware of it. It's like those folks who claim to have transcended ego, because they are now watching their minds, when actually it is still their ego (conscious mind) that is watching. Teachers like Tolle claim to be in a higher consciousness by witnessing their minds but all they are really doing is using the same conscious part of the mind to be aware of the thoughts, as they are thought. If you observe your mind closely you will see, in reality one thought follows another. Example: 1. I am really upset about that. 2. Ah, I am thinking negative thoughts. 3. That situation was unfair. 4. I am aware of that thought, and so on. There is one mind stuff and strangely there is no I, no centre. Just one thought after another. (I am not touching on the subconscious here). Being aware of what your mind thinks makes perfect sense, of course we are aware of our thoughts, but first we have to focus inwards. This is the first stage of growing awareness. At first we are controlled by what our mind comes up with, and then when we look inside we see our thoughts and how they were unconsciously directing us before. This is our first awakening, yet it is the same part of the mind now observing, and one thought is followed by witnessing it. The thought comes first then we are aware of it. In truth there are many thoughts roiling around inside are minds, just outside the spotlight of our conscious mind.
