I'm just glad we have mini-roundabouts and not 4-way stop sign intersections here in Australia. Stop signs are relatively rare (at least in my part of QLD) so you need to be observant as to whether it's a Stop Sign or simply a Give Way Sign. This was a great video with all the details you need to know!
@@bencodykirk Yes, there is one at the intersection of Workshops St. and Vogel Road in Brassall. I don't recall where the other one was. Space constraints and poor visibility are typically the reasons they choose to have four-way stop signs instead of roundabouts.
Can you please make a video on “how to drive on highways”. Like in which lane should we drive, which is slow lane, travelling or cruising lane and passing lane. How to give side to other drivers and how to overtake slow ones. I know this channel is only for cars but it will be beneficial if you explain how motorcyclist should drive on highways. Thank you!
@@drivingtestaustralia Yeah that's completely fine I understand 😄. Just verbal information is also fine. Because once I was riding on my bike on the highway and a few cars were honking at me. And I had no clue what was wrong and one car started tailgating maybe I was in the wrong lane because my speed was fine. I got a little scared.

Frankly a lot of motorists don't like stop signs in Australia. Here are the biggest problems: 1: Most just treat the stop sign as a give way sign, so they just roll at the sign and disobey the stop sign rules on purpose. 2: Thinking they won't get caught if they don't stop at the stop sign. Mind you that you can get a fine for not stopping at the sign if there's a police car behind. 3: Everytime I stop at a stop sign, some motorists behind me get impatient because they think rolling at the stop sign is okay. This may lead to road ragein some cases (I've seen a few drivers that get very vocal against me). I stop at the stop sign all the time which is important to obey the road rules all the time. Unfortunately it's like that everyone I see rolls at the stop sign, and I'm the only one that stops at the sign. This makes me feel alone (I know I'm not exactly the only one that stops at stop signs though!).
Hi, I have a question: If you are at an intersection with a stop line, indicating that you want to go either straight ahead or turn left, and there is a car coming from the opposite direction with a 'give way' sign, indicating a right turn, who has the right of way to proceed? The intersection scenario should be the same as in your video at 8:12 Thanks5
The car that is going straight has the right of way, regardless of whether there is a stop sign or a give way sign. A stop sign does not have more authority than a give way sign.
Can u pls do a video for how to drive in big intersections with multi lanes and traffic lights and also about driving in tunnels. I get so confused sometimes at which traffic lights to look at. The Rules and what not to do. Those are what gives me anxiety when it come to driving.
I failed because of this , Stop sign , stopped 2 mtrs before the line and then I did look briefly left and right and went ahead. I wish i had seen this video before. My examiner said "everything was going great , until I made this mistake 5 mins before my test was finshing and I failed." 😢
Let’s say I’m turning right at a stop sign and there are few more cars on the opposite side coming towards me. Do I need to give way to all of the cars or can I take the gap between each car as each of them will need to stop?
Yes you still need to give way to them. Note that that's not a safe gap at intersections. Also unfortunately not all drivers stop fully at stop signs or they just stop for a fraction of a second. So in Australia it is legal today to drive past a stop signal (sign) But You have to stop before a stop signal (stop line, red traffic light, a police officer showing a stop signal, traffic controller with a stop sign. Mmmmmm
