He doesn’t mention it but instead of PPI’s I am using Apple cider vinegar to address my GERD issue. I am sure my gastroenterologist won’t like this but I just don’t want the risk of PPI’s.
@@singleandlooking8026 It depends what kind of GERD is the issue. If it is because of low stomach acid, apple cider vinegar should be a good solution. Otherwise, no.
1:59 min, no! Not caused by a weak esophagus sphincter. It is caused by the gas belching out of the stomach going up the throat, which forces the sphincter open, which weakens it. What causes this gas? How can this gas formation in the stomach be stopped!!!
There are several videos online making the claim, that the les muscle isn't working properly for reflux patients, because there is not enough stomach acid. And that getting acid reducing medication therefore is the exact opposite of what reflux patients should be doing. It is recommended to drink apple cider vinegar for example or to take pills which help the stomach produce more acid. It is claimed that too low stomach acid is the cause for the insufficient functionality of the sphincter muscle. I have no idea if these claims are legit though...
I have read a lot on low acid. Drs have been treating me for high acid and it’s not working I am trying the HCL and pepsin, and gaviscon with alginate too and alkaline water drink always
This is not true. IF this was the case then everyone who goes cold turkey off of ppi meds would get relief seeing as that causes acid rebound. The majority of people who quit ppi's get horrible symptoms.
When my wife and I had acid reflux years ago we never thought it could be from low acid, I thought it was due to hyper-acidity because of spicy foods we've been eating and drinks such fruit juices in bottles and coffee. We tried different medications but they only provided temporary relief. Someone at the church suggested to us to eat natural remedies such as red apples. We tried red apple delicious and Fuji apple fruits for a few days and we were amazed they worked, we totally got rid of the problem and it never came back until this day.
Linx procedure sounds awesome. Any info on long term effects? Like scar tissue formation and ability of lower esophagal sphincter to relax after swallowing?
I’ve got it really bad. I’ve suffered so much from gerd and it is infuriating. Just can’t get a good handle on it. First bite of every meal i choke hard and have to wash the food down and when i do i get a wave of exhaustion. I get pain in my ears when i get flare ups from my stomach!
Well I’ve been taking a heaping teaspoonful of baking soda with very warm water…. It works. I don’t have a gallbladder. They just took it out because I had a gull stones [not many] so it’s be since 2006.
Sorry to learn of your struggle. It sounds like you have weakness in the esophageal muscles. You are not a candidate for this operation. They have to do the manometric study first to evaluate the strength of the swallowing muscles.
Omg! Same here! I am so sorry you are suffering with this. I have no gallbladder as well and I feel pain in my ears too and tightness around my stomach. I am taking Betaine HCL with every meal which helped in the beginning but now I feel the acid reflux when I am walking, I feel the acid coming up feeling the burning on side of my throat, my ears and wants to burp but has difficulty and feels like choking too. It is very scary!
Try eating natural remedies such as red apple delicious or Fuji apple fruits for a few days. They are known to have alkaline properties which can neutralize hyper-acidity and are proven effective in treating acid reflux or GERD.
I am the only person in my family, who has this GERD and Erosive Esophagus :( 3/27/2023 I'll have EGD TEST. I feel I need other testing done to see more in detail of my esophagus.

"How is GERD diagnosed?" Ahahaha. The doctor couldn't have given less of a sh1t. She just assumed I had it. I went to another doctor and asked for an endoscopy or anything and she said, "We don't want to go down that route and open up a can of worms." I told her, "Are you kidding me? I want this done. I need relief." They act like we're stupid.
You can get rid of the problem by simply eating natural remedies such as red apple delicious or Fuji apple fruits. Eat those red apples for a few days to ensure success of treatment.
My Gi doctor , won't listen to me , she is saying that my symptoms are from IBS , but I am having the feeling like acid that is coming into my throat , when I am having these episodes I have trouble breathing and feels tight, she's saying it's IBS and that she doesn't think she's gonna find anything .. I feel crazy now!
Yes it's LPR - GERD. Treat with Gaviscon Advance or Reflux Gourmet. These contain Sodium Alginate which blocks pepsin gas from floating up the esophagus - which is what is causing your symptom. Pepsin should be in the stomach to digest foods but not up in throat digesting tissue. This needs to be blocked then follow with a low acid diet for a week to avoid activating the pepsin already in your throat and sinus tissues. Take a teaspoon of honey several times /day after meals and at bedtime.
Do you ever do linx on a weak esophagus. Since my manometry showed 60% ineffective swallows my dr would rather do a loose Nissen than Linx. But I think it’s the reflux causing the motility issue and perhaps Linx would eliminate both. There are risks with either procedure and the Nissen isn’t reversible.
Any suggestions for gastritis stomach burn??? It’s been a year of burning everyday. Drs just say take Pepcid. But is it high acid or low acid at age 70. 97 pounds now. Lost about 15 pounds. Drs are not helping. Dr said I had gerd too. ?????
It might have something to do with your diet or stress. Try eating natural remedies such as red apple delicious or Fuji apple fruits for a few days to neutralize hyper-acidity in the stomach.
I have been on. Ppl’s for ten years how can I get off them …. My Dr does not seem to know how as long as I take the med Iamm okay But I understand we need that we need the acid to dijest our food so what is the problem..
You can get rid of hyper-acidity in the stomach or acid reflux by eating red apples fruits such as red apple delicious or Fuji apples. Eat those apples for a few days to ensure success of treatment.
The problem isn't TOO MUCH ACID at ALL! It's n not enough acid or acid in the wrong place OUTSIDE the stomach. You actually need MORE acid in stomach to digest nutrients. Stomach Ph should be in the 1.5-2.5 range - hugely acidic. But it needs to stay there as the esophagus is not designed to handle that level of acid as is the stomach. Better digestion = less regurgitated food. Take Betaine HCL and digestive enzymes WITH food, the Gaviscon Advance or Reflux Gourmet AFTER eating and at bedtime to seal up the LES precluding gas or food from backing up. Eat a low acid diet for one week to help heal the throat and sinuses as pepsin gas has embedded itself in there. You will feel better in a week
@@widowswatch6610 Low acid is the issue more often than not. Take HCL with meals then Gaviscon Advance (or any Alginate product - Reflux Gourmet etc...) AFTER eating and at bedtime. Keeping the Pepcid IN the stomach is key. Drink Alkaline water all the time. Doing these things should provide relief within a month or less imho.
Hi let me just jump in here. Briefly please. I’ve got gerd etc 20 years on ppis etc always get reflux ok. I say that to say I went to a yoga retreat in masca Tenerife. They made all food from plants grown in their garden. I never needed any of my three medications daily. AMAZING. LIFE CHANGING. Best wishes
It causes a lot of discomfort and quite awful. We've been there before. We were able to get rid of acid reflux by eating natural remedies such as red apple delicious and Fuji apple fruits. It only took a few days eating those red apples and we were amazed acid reflux was gone and never came back.
eat nothing but red grapes for 2 or 3 weeks and it will be 90-100% healed; worked for me you can do some lightly oiled popcorn if cravings are too much and you need a fix you can also probably do it with just about any other fruit thats high water content & high astringent as well, but i did it with grapes, but feel free to try other fruit especially if you find some that tastes really good
@@Tyler-gd7yw Funny I just woke up and saw your message. And even more ironic as of yesterday popcorn is another thing I have to eliminate. My stomach has been horrible the last 2 times I ate it ( yesterday being one of the days) I have been overhauling my diet since learning of mild kidney disease and high BP. I am learning my triggers now and my stomach has been better since my original post. Sugar, popcorn and virtually all processed foods are eliminated to this point. I have been doing this to myself all these years somewhat unknowingly. Vicki

Yeah. If you are on the operating table and your surgeons, anesthesiologist & nurses are wearing masks, make sure you tell them to remove them - because they don’t work. Genius
@@surlyman7970 He's not talking surgeries where masks trap fluids. He's referencing masks while visiting that do ZERO in limiting viral spread. My experience has been different. I had no regurgetation events, EVER. I have no idea as to how "heart"burn feels. I've been a non drinker most of my life.
