Text in PowerPoint typically defaults to shrink text size automatically as more text is added to a text box. You can fix this problem by adjusting the text box settings on the format shape menu under 'size & properties'. This video shows you how to do this for an individual text box and offers a suggested way to change the default settings for text boxes throughout the rest of your document or slide deck.
