This has always been something I’ve struggled with. I used to spend a degenerate amount of time on discord, so my texting eventually got very expressive, and I guess I would classify as a “good” texter. But because of that, I now almost always text people - I feel I can be similarly expressive while still avoiding the fear that comes with actually calling. But the thing with calling is that it’s so much more genuine. A friendship built purely off of texting isn’t going to be nearly as strong as one built on calls. So I definitely feel this video is calling me out… in a good way though. I only have trouble with friends though. I always play video games with my mic on and I’m no stranger to just joining random calls on discord servers. But when it comes to friends, the anxiety from trying to call someone is always pretty overwhelming

the quality of these mini podcasts are so great to listen to because, (no pun intended) it feels like we’re in a call. i’m not the biggest fan of calling someone, since i’m not great with starting conversations out of the blue; or just overall talking. i love texting people, but sometimes, when you ARE texting with someone, you can’t tell someone’s tone or attitude unless they make it obvious. while on call, you can tell more quicker because of their voice level, tone, and overall vibe. again, i can’t say it enough, i love love LOVE these videos. i always get a smile when i see an upload notif. :)

It kinda got me thinking that some of the social anxiety problems, or just troubles with talking with strangers come from culture of texting. Cuz when you're texting, you have all this time to overthink and overanalyze what you can or should say, crafting this perfect response (especially if it's someone you're attracted to), while a phone call, like an irl conversation puts you on the spot and you just can go with the flow without anxiety. So as we stop calling, we kinda lose our ability to hold conversations, which can make us even more anxious irl. Man, you got me thinking about some stuff😁 Awesome vid, as always. Kinda been busy with my job lately, but it's nice to binge your vids again, keep up your great work👏

I feel like sometimes when people text, they will hide what they really feel behind the letters they send. With a call, you have inflection on certain things, and it truly shows their opinion on the topic. I've noticed that when I'm texting, maybe I want to show that I care. So I use an exclamation mark, but that feels like too much sometimes. But if I'm calling, I can say what I really want to say. There's also no going back. You can't re-read your call to change anything, and it also shows your personality more with the things you wouldn't normally text.

as embarrassing as it is, my biggest fear is talking to people. even ordering food is terrifying for me 😅 so the thought of calling instead of texting is definately something ive never really dared to think about. in times where i do call, i just go silent mid way from pressure even i dont really understand. i do wanna try getting more comfortable with it 😓.

I remember when i was younger i was texting a lot of people but now i dont really text with anyone cause as you said, the relationship cant be hold on memes, but accually im happy with that since i have more time for myself if i dont text;) The last time i called someone with not important thing was when i wanted to invite a girl somewhere she said yes but after a while she texted my that, unfortunetly she didt want to go. But i Acceot the Challenge! Something new at least😅

With texting there could also be misunderstanding messages wich I think is not possible with calling someone because it is a lot clearer to know what the person you are calling means and thinks

I think in general, you should put down your phone go outside touch some grass and hang out with some people. Everybody loves to say that they’re still connected with people in the musher face-to-face with them the rest of it’s just BS.
