Yep, the hare has nibbled some echinacea flowers right down to the stalks and young tarrow leaves down to the ground. Planted them both because they aren’t supposed to like them 😊

Squarls are destroying my garden. I purchase plants that are deer and rabbit resistant but the squarls come in like commacozy pilots and wipe out the new plantings. I have tried everything not harmful to them. I don't want to hurt them,just keep them off the plants. Help.

Oh no! Creating a DIY solution to deter squirrels from your garden plants is a straightforward and environmentally friendly way to protect your greens. To make this homemade squirrel repellent, start by mixing one tablespoon of cayenne pepper and one chopped garlic clove into a quart of water. Allow this mixture to sit overnight to maximize its potency. Then, strain the solution to remove any solid particles, and pour it into a spray bottle. Before applying, ensure the affected plants are dry. Spray the solution generously on the leaves and around the base of the plants, reapplying after rainfall. The pungent odor and spicy taste of the cayenne pepper will discourage squirrels from nibbling on your garden plants, keeping them safe and sound. Remember to reapply the solution periodically, especially after heavy rains, to maintain its effectiveness. You can also try planting Allium and Marigolds, both of which are supposed to repel squirrels. I hope it helps!!

I leave a spot in my garden to put in clover & a local grass. I love having the deer around but don’t want them eating my other plants. I plant a lot of salvia there r so many varieties & colors. The deer might nibble a little bit but only when really hungry.
