I have to be honest, I used my Magic Keyboard so much, I kinda forgot I could use it as a tablet. One day I realized how little I’ve used it vertically. Took it out and began using it more often as a tablet and fell in love again with my iPad
@@kevinmartins1669 Well they just realize it’s still a tablet, touch screen, and that’s why they use vertical because your laptop is horizontal so using vertically won’t incline you to use the keyboard
@@sanforquez Thanks for sharing. It's difficult to make a nuanced point in a Short and I've strayed away from trying videos, especially shorts, in this tone despite it being the largest driver of subscribers on the channel. It's a bit annoying when certain videos blow up to this extent at a point when you were just testing how to make a certain video format. But that's RU-vid, I guess!
I think that the Logitech Folio Touch is the best because it can fold backwards so you can also use it for viewing content, sketching, and like an iPad.
I think the Magic Keyboard is excellent, almost turning it into a laptop. I just wish it could fold backwards like the Folio keyboard instead of having to remove it.
I TOTALLY agree with you!!! I am a musician, I bought my IPad Pro 12.9 inch due to the ease of reading music digitally and taking notes during theory class. Since the Magic Keyboard for the 12.9 does not have the backwards fold option, I forgot how many times did I almost forgot my Magic Keyboard in the classroom!!!
Except I *did* buy my iPad *as a cheaper and lighter laptop* to use Remote Desktop when I’m not at home or sitting at my PC. It makes programming on my bed much cozier. And using Windows on the high-PPI Retina display looks amazing!
I literally don’t forget it’s an iPad. The fact that both the pencil and the iPad is easily detachable with magnates makes me switch from typing to handwriting or reading+taking hand written notes as smooth as a hot knife cutting butter. It’s amazing to be able to stop, and grab it to make a sketch and write out ideas as they come
I get what he’s talking about. I mean the iPad is a tablet for a reason. Still the Magic Keyboard is a great tool but it’s nice to use the iPad just as an iPad sometimes.
Ansbthats why you should buy the Logitech Combo/Foli Touch. With the combo touvh, you can take of the keyboard and use your iPad as an iPad but still have the case on for protection. Thr Foli Touch kn tbe other hand doesn't let you yake off the keyboard, but you can fold it back and stoll jse the kickstand.
iPad Pro is a laptop replacement. I’m a student and just recently bought an iPad for digital note taking and it’s way better. I already had a pc and a laptop but now I find myself using my iPad for all my subjects except for English where I use my desktop or laptop. If I had a keyboard case for my iPad I probably wouldn’t use my laptop because I could just use my pc at home or use my iPad in split screen. Also I have an iPad 9th gen so it’s not incredibly powerful or anything but it just has really good software and functionality. If I had an iPad Pro or air with a keyboard case I would probably never use a laptop
honestly, this is so true. i recently switched from the magic keyboard to the smart keyboard folio and it is so much easier to switch from “laptop” to tablet
Yeah, cuz that’s what you need when you’re broke, a 2000 dollar tablet. I’d rather just give you the 2000 dollars, so you can spend it on rent, bills and food. You know, basic necessities you need to survive, that an iPad can’t replace.
@@hexagonal69 it was a gift. A graduation present which I had no control over. I use it for work and my schoolwork. Seeing as how I’m using it to make money and do the assignments to earn my degree, I’d say it was a pretty good investment. Good advice for somebody else but assumptions aren’t exactly helpful.
I never had to get the magic keyboard because i actually took the time to learn how to touch type and now i’m just as fast with touch typing as i am with a keyboard
This makes a lot of sense, this is the exact reason why I decided to buy a bluetooth keyboard and mouse instead of the Magic Keyboard, it’s not only a lot cheaper but it also allows me to use it more like an actual tablet (taking notes, drawing, games etc) the fact that in order to do these thing you will have to remove the magic keyboard and leave your iPad unprotected makes a lot of people stop using it as an iPad. Ignore the people that didn’t understand your point ☺️
I get what you’re saying, but I want to give my opinion. When I’m at the library, at my desk, or laying in bed and I take my ipad off the keyboard i’m like very sure i won’t just drop it… I take it out when i’m sure that it won’t get hurt, which is most of the time when i get comfy to do some work/read/take notes. I think you would enjoy the magic keyboard isabella, just my two cents :)
@@mystery3576 Well I usually use it for taking notes on class, watching videos or when I’m playing piano (as music sheet) and I end up using my macbook for homework. I just take my bluetooth mouse and keyboard in case I need to do any typing in the iPad when I’m out since I never pack my macbook. For me it wouldn’t be worth it.
I constantly take it off to use it in drawing/writing mode. I like that you have it as a case and to type on and sit on a high stand when needed, but can easily remove it to hold and control more freely
Jokes on you; I already do! But; you’re right, the whole selling point of the magic keyboard is how it lets your tablet serve as a laptop too. The multifunctionality offered by the magic keyboard rocks and I’m glad I have one
I know what you mean I have been using my iPad with Magic Keyboard for almost a year at this point and recently took it out and it feels like a new device
@@matthewhart2819 I’m just pointing out that his point isn’t completely ridiculous, but people being offended is. That’s it. You still found a way to take me too seriously.
@@matthewhart2819 wasn’t saying it’s creative to take the iPad off the keyboard dummy, just that this video is a simple reminder to be creative with your iPad.
I had a Logitech keyboard case….loved it for a couple weeks…then I realized I wasn’t using my iPad outside of work…it became heavy and cumbersome to use. It’s a great option, just my daily cup of tea.
I don’t have an iPad Pro or a Magic Keyboard, I use an iPad 9th gen with an Eveo Keyboard Case. I plan on buying an Artec one, just to make it even MORE like a laptop! I just love the idea of a MacBook but can’t afford it, so here’s the closest thing!
I spent £1250 on my base model iPad Pro 12.9inch and around £360 on the Magic Keyboard… it’s not a cheaper alternative because £1610 can buy you a MacBook
See you understand a message that he was trying to give to anyone who views this short. And their personal opinion they were suggesting that he people should head stop using the magic pad that essentially turns the iPad into hybrid laptop, but the thing is what they may, or may not understand is that everyone has their own productivity set up and everybody has their own way of putting their iPad, computer, cell phone, or anything that they use for productivity. Me personally I use my iPad for taking notes in class and music theory
Got the iPad not because I wanted an iPad, but because I wanted a Mac with a touchscreen and Apple Pencil. So I take it out when I draw. Between my m1 air and iPad m1. Naturally ipad gets the most attention, I love the magic keyboard:)
Actually, there reason I bought an iPad instead, is because I like that it’s like a hybrid between the two, I like having it as a laptop and a tablet. It’s just that when the screen is larger than the MacBook’s, it’s not the easiest to manage, compared to an iPad mini for example.
100% right ❤ I purchased ipad for a different purpose , but using it like a macbook since i got Magic Keyboard . And true, I forget sometimes this is ipad & not laptop 😂. Use of Apple Pencil got minimum since got Magic Keyboard 🤣
One of the reasons some people get an iPad with a Magic Keyboard is because a mac is heavier and more bulky than an iPad, but they still want a laptop keyboard and such.
I did the same to be honest and I think I just ended up realising the iPad doesn't work well enough as a laptop replacement for my specific tasks. But I discovered loads of new and exciting use cases when I began to treat it as an iPad.
Kind of the opposite actually. It’s about remembering to use the iPad in all of its capacities, rather than just defaulting to one setting because you never take it out of the case.
@@IntentionalTech Then the video is misleading. To my understanding, it implies that you shouldn't use it like a laptop because it's a tablet and because laptops exist. Even tough you should take full advantage of your device's capabilities.
@@nuclear2970 Thanks for the feedback. It’s the risk of leaving things open-ended but there isn’t a huge amount of room on shorts and I’m still trying to figure out the right way to use them. I just want to encourage people to use all aspects of their tablet. I definitely didn’t for a long time because of how easy it is to leave in the case.
One of the reasons I love it is how easy it is to take off when I don’t want to use it. Got a lot of typing. Boom it’s on. Travel with it on. Want to handwrite notes in OneNote, super simple magnetically pull it off. I never intended to get the keyboard when I got the iPad but after using it for a few hours I knew I really wanted it. Then apps like Notion only show certain UI elements when you use the trackpad.
“You are using it too much like a laptop, but you did it buy a laptop for a reason; stop immediately” Such a luminary thinker, thank you for this revelation.
I don’t like the floating Magic Keyboard. I chose the logitech one because I can remove the keyboard and flip it around so it can be held as a tablet. I can’t imagine, drawing attached to a floating keyboard, and I’m not bothered to constantly separate them to two objects that I would have to keep an eye on and bring around.
I use my iPad as both a tablet and laptop because I bought it for that. I love the creativity it gives as a tablet, and the productivity it gives as a laptop. I bought a cute keyboard for it because my keyboard stopped working
Best thing you can do is attach an external monitor so that you can keep the iPad closer to you for drawing, and a mouse and keyboard for computer-related work. 👍🏻
I love my Magic Keyboard. I spent like 250 dollars on it for my iPad Pro so I’m using it to its full potential. When I want to use the keyboard, I put it on and take it off when I’m done using it.
I get you point but I bought my iPad and keyboard case because it was cheaper Then a MacBook so I actually bought it because I wanted a laptop but was to lazy to save 😅
Well I didn’t get the Magic Keyboard for my iPad because I own a MacBook but if I didn’t I would definitely get it regardless of what people would say about using the Magic Keyboard
The fact it can’t fold back so you can use the iPad like a tablet is a huge failure of design. The iPad 10 alternative is closer to the surface design and allows you to use the iPad like a tablet without removing the case. Same for the old folio keyboard and the Logitech keyboard case. In a lot of ways the Magic Keyboard is the Magic Mouse of iPad design.
It will only take 10 brainstorming sessions for apple team to come up with a keyboard which can let the user rotate the screen to work in portrait mode.
