Balero's do too have a function! When it's hot outside and you want to wear a sleeveless shirt but you have to go to church. While you're in the church, you slip the balero on when you're finished with masa,You take the bolero off and go to brunch.

I love elastic waistlines. They are the most comfortable and classic too and made for wide hips. So happy that they made a comeback!

Great videos and shorts. Can I suggest that there is no music while you are talking. It is like an accessory that it out of place.

The examples of flared skirts you give look much cooler than the examples of A-line-skirts. The first have a retro chic and the latter look outdated.

Hi Lena. I'm so sad that you included boleros. As a petite I find the bolero is to be the perfect length. Also, since manufacturers do not put sleeves on the dresses I wear a bolero to cover my arms and for warmth. Dressy places like to show off their cold air conditioning and I am always freezing. However, I hate the idea that the bolero hides the part of the dress which is the most prettiest. I do agree with the other items. Sad about the peasant skirt because I still like these.

I’m happy I don’t have any of those items: - Guilty for wearing a bolero back in 2000 - Never bought a wedge trainer in my life, even when it was trendy it never set well with me didn’t understand why. - Used to wear flare skirts and exactly do theatrical moves like you do but because I’m hijabi i used to fall on my face🙈😭😭 sooooo much fabric gets in the way and one time I stepped on it and it almost took off now I understand why it was running 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I disagree about everything you said. Fashion or style is a very personal thing, and women come in all shapes and sizes. There is a reason why such items as the bolero or peasant skirt have endured over the decades and even longer. They suit some women very well and when impeccably constructed with high quality materials they can be impressively stunning. Even the most classic and ubiquitous garment such as the pencil skirt can appear unsuitable and unattractive on a woman with a particular body shape. Add to that poor construction and inferior fabric and this unfortunate woman will not appear her best. I don't know if you are a personal style consultant and work with individual clients. I am not. But if I were to hire one, I would expect that person to work closely with my personal likes, dislikes, my physical characteristics, and my lifestyle activities. If she were to suggest that I should no longer wear that three thousand dollar cashmere sweater I own that is skillfully decorated with pearls, I would expect to hear a very good reason why she thinks the pearls spoil it. If the sweater was a thirty dollar acrylic item peppered with pearls, I would still ask for a reason to get rid of it. The two sweaters have two main similarities: both are knits and both are decorated with pearls. At a glance, any person with good taste will be able to tell you exactly which one is superior to the other. If any woman out there owns any of the items that the lady in the video mentioned, I would recommend that you take a good look at yourself and the item as objectively as you can and determine from that if it suits you well. Is it an exquisite silk bolero that just matches that beautiful chiffon evening dress perfectly and fits your body like a dream? Then by all means wear it. Do you have slim long legs that are just made for Capri pants (I think the lady in the video referred to them as peddle pushers)? I'm glad Audrey Hepburn didn’t turn up her nose to them! Or maybe there is a more practical reason for donning them; perhaps your legs have varicose veins or scars that prohibit you from wearing short shorts, and therefore cropped pants are a viable alternative. Or maybe you just like them! Do you crave comfort around the midriff but aren’t keen on the look of a visible elastic waistband? Fine. Try wearing a lovely top untucked that sets off that skirt or pair of pants perfectly while hiding that elastic waistband. When it comes to fashion, it's really a matter of using common sense and personal judgment. I remember in the nineties when the runways were showing mini skirts (after not being seen in more than a decade) and reporters were clamouring to ask the famous fashion designers if this meant the end of the midis. It was Karl Lagerfeld who said it best, “Please let's not discuss this anymore. Short skirts, long skirts-it doesn't matter, they can all be worn.” Minis, midis, bell skirts, peasant skirts, pencil skirts, Aline skirts-please, let's not discuss this anymore. They can all be worn. You get to pick and choose what suits you best. Thank heavens for variety.
