"Stop Wrecking Everything!" Piers Morgan's HEATED Debate With Eco-Protesters

Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by former cricketer Geoffrey Boycott, Just Stop Oil protester Chloe Naldrett and environmental campaigner Donnachadh McCarthy to discuss the latest Just Stop Oil protest which took place today at Lords cricket ground in the Ashes match between England and Australia and whether these eco-protests are effective in getting their message across to the public.
Piers starts by hailing Jonny Bairstow a hero for carrying one of the protesters off the pitch and slams the protests as just 'Wrecking everyone's fun' and no longer being effective in their message. Chloe explains that without these protests, people like herself and other eco-criticisers are nto invited onto shows to spread their message. Piers shuts down this claim however suggesting that civilised discussions and debates happen on this show daily and that these stunts are simply turning the public away from them.

Not like they can justify ignoring bigger polluters like China. Protesting in China makes much more sense, since shutting down oil in UK won't make much difference on the international scale of oil usage anyway. There really is no bigger concern than the future viability of the human race. I have two kids and I am genuinely worried what the world will look like in their lifetime. The only other threat to mankind is probably AI so whilst the cost of living crisis is hard and inconvenient it in no way is more of a priority than the planet which we are destroying. I do not agree with any of the things they are doing block traffic or ruining matches is not a very good way of getting you point across and it will lead to the opposite in some cases with people buying more oil. They are right to an extent. If they were to just petition parliament quietly then nobody would pay them any attention and the issue would be ignored. There's a line between doing enough to be seen and just actively disrrupting the lives of everyday people, and they seem to have crossed it. These activist are stupid af. More people look after the planet on their own by doing their part. We don't need to stop eating animals or stop driving petrol cars.. It's not the people it's the goverment and factories that pollute the planet. These activist should protest against those institutions and leave us alone. Stop sitting on highways making everyone else's lives difficult.

I really want to ask these activists is what are their end goal with all these destructive performances? Only two ways for the government to do anything are either somehow directly change politicians view on this, or have as many people to participate in their cause so that they can have more political influence. At this point, these actions dont affect politicians at all, and the citizens most likely never going to agree with people who are bothering their everyday lives like this. I get their goal, but how is this ever going to help them at all? To me it seems to do the complete opposite.

And tell them, as Piers so proudly say, they are just some puerile spoiled brats, for demanding clean air. Tell them that some games in the past are more important than the clean air they demand. I'm sure they'll understand, love and agree with you completely.

Piers is claiming this and so do I. this isn't 20th century when activists can only get the messages out whenever they stir the pot like this. this is 2023 - not only we get the message but we also see what they are doing thus creates massive dislike to these activists. Like I mentioned in my original comment, this isnt winning any like from politicians and citizens - this is really not that beneficial in spreading their message. Again, this is not 1900s. People can see everything they do, good and bad. I believe they really need to come up with some other method of spreading their message. They are not winning anyone's heart with this god awful performances.

He tried all the diplomatic channels via petitions and everything for 20 years and nothing changed for the better. What remains to be done? To escalate the situation. Piers made a big deal out of nothing, nobody was hurt, nobody was killed "wrecking everything" is like making an elephant out of mosquito. The message had to be send in a more obvious manner, and personally I don't see any problem as long as nobody was injured in any way. You can go along side Piers and blow this thing out of proportion and complain about those guys that they did worse than USA lunching nuclear bombs on Japan. It is your right to think and believe anything. It is also your right to remain stupid, or to become smarter and complain along side them.

The single biggest threat is not the climate but energy shortage due to impossibility to efficiently replace flux of energy obtained from fossil fuels. Instead of think about production and storage Green Khmers want to reduce consumption. The most far reaching eko-idiots want to strip up from the machines. Typical argument is as follows: each European has (on average) at his disposal machinery capable to do work of 600 slaves. It's intollerable let's free the machines from human "lords".

I'm confused. Has Chloe or any of her ilk actually sat down with a govt minister to debate this issue? All we keep hearing is 'the govt is not listening'. That might be because JSO are not actually 'saying anything' they're just throwing paint over things! I'm also very intrigued to know what these protestors see life being like if we just stop oil? That question remains unanswered. As does the question about why these protestors don't take themselves and their orange paint to China - but I think we all know the answer to that question. I also find it interesting how there were next to no protestors out once the weather turned cold but now the sun is back out, so are they. Lots of questions... lots of questions...

In the cricketing nation of Australia we experienced the mildest summer in years and were told some years back the dams would never be filled and they overflowed. The ski fields would not see snow again but had the best natural cover in years. Thank you Pierce for the debate. Mentioning South Africa to draw any parallel to earth warming from the protester point of view by that group questionable? Hold a referendum on the issue in question, like South Africa before 1994. If the majority win based on the facts projected, they must take the full responsibility to design and execute what they believe can work afterwards. Do exactly the same with what South Africa did. Taking view of South Africa and its "achievements" a new generation of protesters piling up again locally, burning schools, block highways all disruptions repeat itself again ......I just wonder about real humanity. Humanity may kill more people than anticipated in the name of humanity. Where do we really start........
