For future reference, the reason that the vehicle you were driving wouldn't go fast may be that it was in 4 wheel drive low. The indicator on the driver's panel looked like all four wheels were lit up. I know from experience that most 4 wheel drives have low and high speed gearing. Low is for crawling through mud and high is for faster speeds across sandy lose materials.

The nearest thing to fast food you will find in AA is KKFC and i think there is a Pizza hut on Bole Road. I travel throughout Africa often but ET is difficult to find western food when you need something to 'settle' you.
