This is a great messge or treasure, yet put so simple. no ones gets this untill you try it and see what happens. although for some it might take some time to see what takes place depending on how sensitive your. But this word "Just being completely with all your sorrow wihtout any movement of thought" This literally lifted me up from hell. what more can i say. Its "Magic" i dont think anyone one understands how potential this can be. remember by follwing the thoughts of sorrow we are nurturing it and escaping for the actual sorrow.

A great Human Being. I think today is even worse, really worse for all of us. We have so many things we are “normally” addicted to, like porn, videogames, internet, gym, social media, tv, netflix, and so on. These are all escape routes from ourselves, from our pain. Actually it’s not difficult to see if we are watching netflix - for example - or calling a friend because “we want to suppress or escape” from our pain, from our emptiness, our emotions, stress and so on, or because we truly want to enjoy a good movie, or a call or whatever. But so many times we just run away, and we should have instead the clarity, the intelligence to remain with that pain, with those emotions, and the thinking mind hates that, because we would be for real in the present moment, without the ego.

I've been following Krishnamurti's teachings for years. Lately with politics, psychology, sociology, etc. I usually have a lot to say after reading/listening to a news article, conversation, etc. Yet, every time I listen to this wonderful teacher I'm humbled and don't have a lot to say. He' is an actual treasure. My (unofficial) teacher Swami Sivenanda Radha along with my Father taught me to value humility and to be appreciative. Krishnamurti naturally encourages one to go further. in these realisations...

Labelling a sensation with a word sets a chain reaction of thoughts in motion and thus amplifies the sensation and hence causes suffering. just being with the fact (sensation or thought) without labelling it will stop that chain reaction of thoughts from happening, and would prevent the mind from wandering around and creating varieties of painful or pleasurable experiences.

Humanity has, over the millenia, escaped responsibility of accepting the fact that violence begins and ends with "I".This truth is immortalised in the kabir doha, "bura jo dekne main chala.............mujhse bura na koi".We are so engrossed in attributing all problems to the "other",that it has been universally accepted that " the other is hell" !!!! When the question is asked," who created the other ", there is complete silence.Enquiry into this fact is the only way mind can understand its divisive nature and sole responsibility in perpetuating violence on this planet.

How does one do it, embrace it wholly? How can I wake up in the morning and not be in tears? To not be tortured by memory, to let go of what is so close but out of my control. No help on the way, just a rough edge. Always escaping only to find myself in the same place. Am I being tortured or am I torturing myself regardless of the nature of a particular disaster? I must let go of something within me or drown in my sorrow in a place where all life is a problem.

This is the one thing in my life I'll always be attached/resistant to. The poverty others endure. It's a redline for me. J may have accepted it, yet does not identify with it knowing poverty is part of the human experience, but for myself my conditioning is too strong to "drop" the poverty I see others face, even if I know poverty is illusory and a product of my own ego. I'm glad he managed to bin the concept of poverty and detach, but I'm far too sensitive to it and will be even on my death bed. If I am to be here at all, then it's to make peoples lives better through change, not just remaining "with the fact".

Because we stick to the past. The memory as such is not the problem, but our habit to prolong things, in denial of the actual reality. We sometimes keep sorrow going to only not forget. The intensity of grief seems to secure that the past stays "alive". The same applies to constantly talk about past pleasures and relive them instead of living now. Happy to explain things more, if it helps.
@sanekabc
@sanekabc 2 года назад
That's a good question. I have given it some thought and here is my reply. I am just exploring this as I am writing. Psychological suffering always takes place in the present. So, when we remember something we are not looking at what is going on right now. So, we could say that we are escaping the present by remembering the past, which takes us away from the present suffering which really is new as it is taking place right now. It has never really left us because it has never been completely dealt with. Suffering is always new. Also, we need to look at all of this not as a way to overcome our psychological suffering but only to understand what is going on and not for the reason to go beyond our sorrow, which is to run or escape. So, why are we looking at all of this? Well, because we suffer and we want it to end. Wanting it to end is a healthy impulse but it also prevents us from looking at it. It prevents us from staying with it. So, there is a conundrum. But how can I understand something and see it for what it is if I have already judged it. My judgment, if I believe it, distorts what I am looking at, so I don't really see the thing for what it is but I am seeing my judgment. The thing K doesn't mention here but says in other talks is that you really can't escape suffering because you are that suffering. Your fear is you. His famous quote "the observer is the observed." This can also mean that the feeler of the emotion is the emotion. But that experiencer thinks it is different from what it is experiencing so believes he/she can escape it or suppress it. We do that because that is the only way we know how to deal with it or we take drugs or escape in other pleasures to medicate ourselves from hurts which have never been fully resolved. And we are constantly creating new hurts. The mind creates you, and the you hurts. K is suggesting there is another way to approach our suffering. We have to find out for ourselves what takes place when the running stops automatically because you see that you cannot run away from yourself.
@sidstar1001
@sidstar1001 2 года назад
@@sanekabc So grateful for your generosity and wisdom in expressing K"s talk in clear description. This is the root cause of one's suffering (sorrow), thus it's so very critical that we get it, live it in its fullest in the NOW, no escape... Will it hurt? Ohhhh yes sure!
