The STOPS 32nd Anniversary Concert in 2004 was performed by 4 organists, using at various times, the Unique Hilsdon Unit Orchestral Pipe Organ, a Hammond T402, a Yamaha HS8, and a Yamaha EL900. The finale was a version of The Dambusters March played by all four organists together, playing all four organs.
Where known, the organist's picture is shown during their playing selection.
Not all the tape was recoverable, so here is the content which was, warts and all, with almost all of the programme on the Hilsdon being performed by Tommy Gladston, with short selections being played by others.
STOPS - the Scottish Theatre Organ Preservation Society, founded on 29th October 1972, is Scotland’s oldest cinema/theatre organ society, and is a registered Scottish charity (SC 018217).
We own and operate the New Palace Theatre Organ Heritage Centre in Greenlaw, Scotland and present an annual season of silent films with live accompaniment.
Our website is www.stops.org for the Society and www.nptohc.co.uk for the New Palace Theatre Organ Heritage Centre.
We welcome donations of all amounts, which can be made to www.paypal.me/stops
