I built this small set of drawers from 2 pallets and a few scraps laying around the shop. My wife thinks its too nice for the shop.
Welcome to SB Woodworks! I appreciate your time and want to give the best value in my projects and videos that i can. If you think ive done so, please consider subscribing!
I try not to say too much in my long form videos and reserve most commentary for short form videos.

He’s using his bare hand to push wood across table saw and a “Grrrripper” box is under the saw. Amazing

The irony was not lost on me when I put in the clip. For certain, it could have been safer. Thanks for watching!

There are two things i really like about this vid. 1, Just simple hand tool woodworking without comment 2, A simple 'normal person' workshop which inspires people who just have ordinary tools. I do hope you get to keep all your fingers though.

Thank you! I appreciate the comments. Yes, you don't have to have tools that rhyme with best fool to create nice things. Also yes, I too hope to keep all my fingers. Probably should keep them further from that blade. 😒

Excellent Job! You do realize, of course, now you have to make videos that make the rest of your shop look that. beautiful. :~) I like your style of video: All work with no talk and making something beautiful out of scraps. My favorite woodworking RU-vidr is Epic Upcycling which uses this format and for this (and your skills), you just received a new subscriber and hopefully many many more to come. Thanks!

Just found your channel. Awesome work. I’m remodeling my shop and was planning to build all my cabinets, considering pallets to keep the cost down. After watching you, I’m definitely doing it. I’ll have to buy the nail punch gun. Don’t have the patience to take all those nails out.😂 can’t wait to see what you build next.

That technique with the hot glue creates a wonderful spalted look. You have a new subscriber! I really enjoy upcycling videos - and silent long form variety. As for this piece of art, try a coin flip - maybe. Then again, a shop elf might move it indoors when you're not around.
@SBWoodworks-ke6tm
@SBWoodworks-ke6tm 2 дня назад
Thanks so much for the comment. The hot glue is far less messy than epoxy and gives a similar appearance. I have found it best when the cracks are bigger than you would want to fill with glue and saw dust but smaller than an epoxy pour would warrant. Appreciate the kind words and sub!

What a great job and beautiful piece of furniture! I really do not think that it's too nice for the workshop, because You've made it Yourself and why not appreciate Your work in form of having a first nice piece of suitable furniture for Your tools? Make Your shop beautiful, that's ok!!! You need not think that Your workshop isn't worth having beautiful furniture in it. You got a new subscriber, I'm looking forward to all Your upcoming projects and how You will evolve over the time. btw, I loved the children's laughter, that was so honest and pure! Concrats by now! I wish You all the best! Warm greetings from Germany 💛

While watching this, I'm reminded of @EpicUpCycling, another channel I really enjoy. This was a great video of the process. I was kind of wondering about the planning, as you could have done the dados for the drawer dividers before gluing up the box. But then I thought, how often do I start a project without a full set of plans; just start "winging it". Then I just sat back and began to relax and enjoy the artful way you walked through the build. Awesome job!!! BTW, Love the Bible verse on your logo too.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Yeah, planning and order of operations are a few things I should work on. I asked myself the very same question about the dados after I had the doves glued up! Lol. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it!

Hi, great video and workmanship! What was that finish you were using from the mason jar? And that was a great way to apply wax using a brush. I'm going to try that as well.
@SBWoodworks-ke6tm
@SBWoodworks-ke6tm День назад
Thanks so much! The finish is equal parts oil based poly, mineral spirits, and boiled linseed oil. If you dont want it to amber quite as much, you can replace the linseed oil with a good food grade mineral oil. You will just want to wait a little longer between coats when applying.

Hey there, awesome job. What's the stuff you put one the face, looks like some kind of wax?
@SBWoodworks-ke6tm
@SBWoodworks-ke6tm День назад
I assume you are referring to the finishing stage? It is just paste wax. I do a few coats of a house mix finish(equal parts oil based poly, mineral spirits and mineral oil) then use a coat of paste wax and buff out after it dries.

How long from start to finish in the real world time of things
@SBWoodworks-ke6tm
@SBWoodworks-ke6tm 2 дня назад
Took around 3 weeks in total. A couple hours at a time here and there. I think I had around 30 hours of footage all together and I filmed pretty much everything start to finish. Unfortunately starting and stopping so often adds time in the long run as well.
