@@kennybachman35 Don't equate what's happening in the Gaza strip to what happened during WW2. That's not only offensive, it's also wrong, and incredibly stupid.
@@kennybachman35I don't know if he would be spinning if he knew that the Israelis have had to endure amid the Arab world that wishes them eliminated by any means. I support a free Israel, free from violence from the surrounding Arab countries.
@@I_love_burnt_toastthat was the Jews way of getting back at the nazis; by putting a young inexperienced attorney to prosecute those high profile perpetrators of the war. It really had nothing to do with justice.
I am not Jewish, but this story is “way” past being told. What about the large sailing vessel that was turned away at our east coast and sent back to there deaths in Europe. This is such a shameful part of our history. Thank you for up loading this.!!
During my middle school and high school years, I had the privilege to meet guest speakers who were held in captive by the nazis. I am extremely grateful to have been educated about such atrocities. Those were the golden days of education. Blessings to all the Jewish people and communities ✡️
I had an opportunity to listen to a live testimony of a holocaust survivor in school. It was a blessing. I have watched many, many, testimonies online since then. They changed my life and taught me so much. The world is lost without the survivors & liberators of WWII.
My grandad who passed away October 2023 was a veteran of the Korean war 1950-53. I wanted to do something similar to this and sit down with him and talk about the war and his memories. I never got that chance.
My grandpa was also in the Korean War and WWII before that. He passed away in 2007 at 90 years old when I was 9. He never talked about the wars, only saying that he was accidentally stabbed by a fellow soldier once. My mom later told me when I was older that it was from him getting into a bar fight in Korea.
God bless you Ben Ferecz who died at the age of 103 and Nicholas Winton who died at the age of 106. These men were the saviors to so many children and brought justice to the Nazis who were creating genocide in the Nurernberg Trials.
We are loosing these people, way to many a day.I hope we got the picture clear of the stories that they told. They were a wonderful generation ❤ strong, brave and proud! I/we will miss them!!
It’s so saddening that human history is shaped by the hatred too many of us have towards one another. We need to not only learn history but learn from history that evil manifests when we think we’re better than another human being.
Abraham (Avrom) Sutzkever was born on July 15, 1913, in Smorgon, Vilna Governorate, which was back then old Polish territories occupied by Russia. In 1921, his mother, Rayne (née Fainberg), moved the family to Vilnius, where Sutzkever attended cheder. Sutzkever attended the Polish Jewish high school Herzliah, audited university classes in Polish literature, and was introduced by a friend to Russian poetry. His earliest poems were written in Hebrew.

Big love to Mr. Ferencz, nice to see someone from the greatest generation give a shout out to the lgbtq+ community. Everyone needs to learn from him. ❤
So many lgbtq+ murdered from 1933-1945. The Holocaust survivors & liberators stood for ALL people. I do as well. You should listen to some USC Shoah Foundation testimonials of lgbtq+ survivors, and those saved by them. ✌️ ❤️
this is such a hard video to watch, but so incredibly important and enlightening, nowadays this world makes it easy to forget the past, but as we can see now so clearly that the past is just a copy of the future, and now if all these anti-semites just watched this video we'd probably see a lot more of a discussion instead of the usual ignorant hate speech
I was surprised to see at 25:40 sitting in the front row on the left, Bobby Kingsley, who grew up and married my cousin. He tried to go back to Czechoslovakia to find out about his family but the authorities sent him back to England.
What a great way to remember the victims of the Holocaust. I'm impressed with what is happening in the modern world to aid us in remembering history because it's all historical and we must not repeat the worst parts of it and the 2nd world war must never be repeated in any way as we are witnessing during the period we are in currently.
When I'm feeling down, I like to watch or read about people who have shown kindness and empathy to others & see other people thriving. I'm not quite sure why it helps me feel better to see things like that...but I'm glad I stumbled across this video today. Beautiful displays of kindness, bravery & humanity in one of the ugliest times in human history.
Thank you sir. It is my honor to Know you. But dear 60 minutes what a timely report . Mr. Netanyahu has enough support in killing Palestinian . There is no need to buy more support by showing this again .
Just tonight there was a massive rally in Tel Aviv filled with tens of thousands of Jewish Israeli citizens protesting the war in Gaza and Netinyahu, demanding an immediate ceasefire and release of hostages - yet I've seen countless comments equating all Jews with the actions of their government, as if all Jewish people support it, when nothing could be further from the truth at this point. I'm pretty sure _that's why they posted this,_ not to buy sympathy for Netinyahu.
This experience was profound for me because of my father, and other relatives who served the allies in WWII. This is a wonderful story and needs to be shared with everyone. ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Well then you just made a point! It was a story that was overdue, children either weren’t taught, or forgotten just how awful a handful of people’s evil edicts can run afoul!!!! First Gentleman was right, many of the men working for Hitler, would never have thought to commit crimes, and started out as good men.
oh wait, it gets worse....Whatever it was that allowed so many people - people in their 10s of thousands to behave so abominably and cruelly to others, whatever that thing was, is inside of you and me and every other person who has is or ever will live and all it takes to show itself is the right set of circumstances to be present.. It's easy, and feels safer to view the perpetrators of cruelty as monsters but they weren't monsters, they were human beings and while its true that there must have been psychopaths who were part of this system and drawn to work in the camps, statically they are a tiny portion of society and therefore cant be scapegoated into being responsible....therefore most of the people involved were just everyday regular people ...just like you and me - now i dont know about you but i pride myself on being a good decent man and the thought that if the proverbial stars lined up in a certain way that if im honest i am probably capable of being just as monstrous and inhuman as they were. we all are, well that thought is so uncomfortable that we pretend it isnt what it really is = truth
@@brianschmidt9919 Wrong. There were 100s of thousands of people in Germany and across Europe who were living in that "right circumstance" that refused to take part in all that crap that was
@@brianschmidt9919 This is true. If you've ever wondered what you would have done during the Holocaust, just look at how you're responding to Palestine today.
This was profound. All of it. RE: Lost music - "The point of connection of life and death is music. This is all we have about life in the camp. Life disappeared. We have only music. For me, music is the life that remained."
It is such a shame that the USA 60 Minutes show has degenerated into a propaganda machine 99.9% of the time. But even they cannot mess up a Benjamin Ferencz interview.
That was crazy. So many things about the Holocaust you don't learn about today. That 3D interactive project is amazing! I would love to ask a Holocaust survivor questions! I'm glad they are working to expand it to others beyond that.
Hamas has attacked Israel 5 times since 2006. How long can people live in fear until they say enough is enough. Biden talking & funding out of both sides of his mouth has created chaos. We are right on the edge of everyone being in chains & endless wars. Why doesn't Hamas want peace for their people?
@@LutraLovegood Hamas doesn't distinguish between militant casualties and civilian casualties. Plus, there's a chance some of the dead kids might've been used as child soldiers.
Naazzis always say that. NO POPULATION EVER was targeted like the Jews 1933-1945. The good people of the world will be here this time to stop it Again.
