"I had no idea that when I kissed him at the Watertown little airport, it would be the last time," says Katherine Turner, wife of Sergeant Major Wardell Turner. Serving Our Country in Afghanistan, SGM Turner was killed by a bomb attack, his family giving the ultimate sacrifice.

Wardell was my classmate in the Sergeants Major Academy and he was indeed a very good man. I received an email from him a week before he died. This video tribute touches my heart. Thank you for sharing his legacy and may his memory live on.

I knew Turner from Jan 92-May 92. We graduated together in the same platoon, 3rd Platoon of C-793rd MP Co Ft McClellan with DSGT Carter, Patterson, and Landrum. His cot was right across from mine during those 4 months. He was Reservist at the time and I was Regular Army. After Basic/AIT he went back home to Maryland and I got orders for FT Benning. My last time seeing him was when I arrived in Frankfurt Germany on the 3rd of June 93'. I spotted him out with his unique mole above his lip. We small chatted, he had orders for the Mannheim AO and I had orders for Augsburg. I wished him Good Luck and a successful life. I did my 5 yrs and separated from the military and made a new life in Germany with my Frau/family. About 5-6yrs ago I joined the MP Veterans group on FB and somebody posted a photo of him on Memorial Day. RIP Turner, I will never forget those 4 months of Basic/AIT and Frankfurt Germany small chat.
