And take your time with your stories, don’t worry about your channel just focus on stories you have planned for season 6 and work on them, maybe try to add more
'steam to diesel conversion' is probably an inaccurate description, its probably a case of oil firing. even if it isn't, one would assume that Robert isn't stupid and if he could pull off putting a diesel engine and generator inside a steam engine and make it work, he would strengthen the frame of the engines that had SDC. also, assuming that it is an oil firing conversion, steam locomotives usually burn fuel oil, which is pretty much the thing at the bottom of the distillation column from asphalt production also PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD do not talk in that low tone, i'm probably not the only one who's blood pressure is rising as i listen to it
Hi not too sound rude but sodor is spelled with SODOR and not SODER. I think you are right though with an engine that looks like him being in SCP’s of sodor
I have a good idea It’s sort of like SDC but a bit different So a motor is placed in the firebox which heats up several special rods that replace the boiler tubes. Those rods get to a certain temperature and boils the water which turns into steam and does the desired effect to help the engine move
This is a seriously interesting theory you’ve come up with, I’m interested to see whether Victor takes this into consideration or not or if he’s going to have his own interpretation of it
I feel like sodors railway will split from br and maybe even the uk becoming fully independent from them to save the engines and sodor would become a sort of safe haven for non faceless steamies
@@FictionalADDON Considering Victor said in a reaction someone did on the season finale "Don't worry about Thomas this isn't the last you've seen of him" So it's not s matter of if but when Thomas would return
Wait a minute. So you think that this SDC kills engines. Right? Well, If Victor does that then he BETTER NOT KILL ANY CANON CHARACTERS! The fandom was already mad at Thomas’ death. So I think Victor should use this theory wisely.
Question for my version of Season 6 that I will make: When I make the story on SDC and it’s failure would it be non sensical for an engine with SDC to explode because of the engine overheating?
Have you seen Snowstorm's theory of how Thomas could return? Because it does touch on the idea of steam engines being converted back and how Thomas could play a role in it.
The only real issue faced by SDC(I believe) is engine overheating and drivetrain inefficiency from the valve gear still being present(at least in Barry’s case.) I don’t think SDC is the end-all solution. It’s probably something for the older engines where parts are damn near impossible to come by. THEN, the newer engines are optioned to be converted to FUEL OIL fired, even then, later on during the OPEC oil crisis, oil conversion is a second option to SDC. Many, many, *many* engines in the US have had conversions to oil fired, and it’s worked marvelously. I point to the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, they just did this to all of their K-Series engines(K-28, K-36, and K-37). The only remaining coal fired at the time of writing is K-36 No. 481, and she’s slated to go in for oil conversion sometime soon.
@@jamesgroccia644 yes it is. I said K-36, not K-37. 491 is a K-37, and 481 is a K-36 on the D&S And the D&S also has K-37 No. 493. I think 497 is still skulking about somewhere, but the only two K-37’s that operate currently are 493 on the D&S and the 491 at the CRRM.
Interesting that you observed the Midis all got metal fatigue. But it’s important to note that not all of them will die. awdry decided not to depict the dead in his books (except for 1 instance of thomas but irl this was actually the publishers who requested more books about him and it would’ve been about Barry). So this means Donald, Douglass, and Diesel all survive to atleast 1973 where Awdry doesn’t write the books anymore.
I wonder though. When talking about SDC Victor didn't specify power type. We don't know if it's Diesel-Mechanical, Diesel-Hydraulic or Diesel-Electric. This makes me wonder, if instead of Steam to Diesel, there could be a Steam to Electric. Though how possible that is is another matter considering the UK isn't that much electrified compared to other countries. Also and correct me if I'm wrong - doesn't metal fatigue affect mostly the boiler? This huge piece of metal, that needs to be able to keep all that pressure inside. It seams like putting a diesel engine inside would remove the need for boiler maintenance, but at a cost of increasing stress on other components of the engine.
@@TheTrainTheoristOfficial oh, I don't doubt that. Rather I noticed it's most often the boiler, and that when it's the boiler it's causing the most trouble to fix
good theory but i dont think barry will die bc he is in scp's of sodor which takes place in 2014 and i highly doubt victor is going to make that many seasons.
You sound kinda diffrent. As if you’re tired. Not a problem, just a notice. Interesting. I think Barry with metal fatigue sounds interesting but sad cause I will get PTSD to my favourite character’s death.
