Storing sensitive user data 

Well, it's not a good practice to save the encryption in the same place. Like in your case, you store the key in another table. IMO, hashing with adding some random data (salt) is the way more protective.

Is this safe for production? Showing "django.core.signing.BadSignature: Signature version not supported" when already data in database

It is present?
