From 8:00 onward, to be played just before I die and at my funeral. As a Swede, the solo-guitar part goes straight into my Swedish soul. So typically Swedish, dark, gloomy, melancholic and sad. Beautiful. Also makes me remember the music in Swedish TV series from the 70s. A lot of Opeth's music has just that feeling. Very Swedish in a way.
I always listen to this when I got the urge to cry but can't. It helps to release the tears. My grandmom passed this night, she was my only real grandma, we were very close... was allowed to leave work, could not cry while working in stress (tree nursery ,intensive seasonal minimum 10h workshifts right now )... such wonderful music, helps alot right now...
I play this track almost every winter morning on my drive to work. It accompanies the rising winter sun so beautifully. Such a magical piece of music. Sheer genius
Steven Wilson from Procupine Tree and Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth together have created something that I have never heard, felt or experienced before. This is a magnificent example of music when you are not chasing any specific genre. This kind might only be appealing to a select few but the ones who do fathom will be left spellbound by the fact that how do these men create such masterpieces!! Live long Steven and Mikael.
There are no signs of modern civilization in the world of this song. Only forests, sunset-lit branches, mystical feelings and your most beloved one... simlpy magic!
I have been listening music since the sixties. Every genre known, whichever yo tell me. Been listening prog since 45 years, yep, since 1970. But this song is probably one of the most beautiful ever three or two. What´s more, no parameter here, non.
Hello jamesgabi: I think other such homongus epic tracks would be Turn of the Century (Yes); The Battle of Epping Forest (Genesis) Anesthetize (Porcupine Tree); Matte Kudusai (King Crimson) etc. Of course, it could be a very long list but for and intro here are some. Regards.
See you were crying See you were crying Mine is what you are Mine is what you are Mine - you are mine And I see you wait, see you wait In the sky I purge you now 'Cause I got hope inside me Come back to me now It's after hours 'Cause I'm nowhere now Without you here Cold wind will come I purge you
@@saskiakroonsberg True... realy true,... but ! Steven have inside something, exactly something incredible...., something amazing what first looking for, and then what opens the inside of other artists. He's talent, but above all it opens up to others, giving them the opportunity to show something they did not know about themselves before? Or... maybe something that they did not necessarily want to show ( I'm sure that Mikael himself must have been surprised by himself :) ) A big thanks to Steven, but also a big applause for delight for Mikael. It's wonderfull, that they together met
Kate Jutta Sorry, I don’t agree. Mikael evolved without Steven. Making a bold decision together with Mendez (Opeth drummer) when they decided to produce their album Heritage. Opeth is one of a kind, like Steven was- for you he still is I assume. I loved PT, but To The Bone isn’t my cup of tea at all.
