As someone who is once again getting into Storm Hawks and a rabid Piper x Master Cyclonis shipper I found this to be amusing and delightful kudos to you for throwing it together.
Suzi-lu's Canadian. OF COURSE there's subtext ; ) Hell Canadians MADE THE SHOW and they have a notorious track record for sneaking subtlety in their toons.
@@carbootstudios2459 Don’t you mean like ancestors of the family bloodlines? Most people thought Atmos was Earth but not our Earth or more like the parallel worlds that are the mountaintop kingdom where they fly around with their bikes in the air, and then they even have a rhino man along with the lizard people who work for the bad guys.
It's also possible, guys, that she's just very confident in her sexuality to not hold any stigmas about behavior that people would consider to be "lesbian behavior". I've got a friend just like her, and she's straight. But hey, personally, Piper is my favorite character, lesbian, bisexual, or not. lol
aerrows face was so funny when piper said that starling was her most favourite sky knight. and he was so proud when she changed it and said starling was her second fave. Nice vid you really picked up on a lot of things!
@WishIWasADemon when i was 11 i did have a crush on piper because the "adults" drew her really good to make it look like a real black chick! i was like damn cartoon network u done a good job!
I vaguely remember seeing an episode of this show somewhere over 2 yrs ago probably when I was at a friend's house vibing and he had the TV playing for background noise I think
OMG, someone other than my sister believes me when I say Piper is totally gay! I know there's a lot of Piper/Aerrow videos out there, but I've watched all the episodes and quite frankly she doesn't show any interest in Aerrow at all, or any other guy (except for that one blond guy). She's shown more interest in women, especially Starling. Then there's that Cyclonis episode ;). Poor Aerrow, his love is completely one-sided. She is so pitching for the other team. *snicker*
Dude I had a crush on Piper before I knew what a crush felt like. I watched the show as a kid, still thought I was straight at 16 somehow lol Also 1:30 is something I completely missed. I burst out laughing at that one!
the inclusion of such a character is clearly a victory for the LGBT and women's rights activists everywhere cartoon writers are finally warming up to this idea
in the interview when asked if there will be any ronamtic involvement between the characters Asaph Fipke said "no comment". So we cant tell yet. I doubt it because storm hawks is mainly aimed at kids.
Dude, I just noticed Piper's face while "Lark" was looking around and her face when Suzy-Lu was talking to her about feezing the terra. Wow, NerdCorps really is hinting at something!
In what episode do you se he has a picture of Dove up on the wall? Oo and i agree with the AerrowxDove..espically in the most recent episodes :) good work keep creating! xXx
Piper seems to have a thing for both Aerrow and Starling, but neither of them seem romantically interested in her. It's a bit sad, actually. At least she can hang out with Aerrow every day, though.
you make really good videos VT16, some of the stuff that you mentioned here ive never realised before. You shoud make some more on the other characters aswell as piper.
man, what an old comment. I'm fully aware about B:TAS and the Harley & Ivy comics; Adventure Time did it too to an extent. but I find this whole fangirl (and in rarer yet still noticeable cases, fanboy) trend of dissecting cartoons looking for shipping subtext to be really funny. I thought this way ever since I was around 13 and witnessed a 'South Park general' thread on a cartoon forum instantly become a discussion on 'favorite couples' even though that's so overtly not what the show is about.
wow... how did you find the time to pick up all these little notes? I'm amazed ._. btw, do u know who has the teaser for ep 27? since you said it shows Cyclonis' comeback, I wanna see it :D
It wont be clear yet. In the interview with Asaph Fipke, i think he said that he might reveal some background information in later episodes. Meaning that any thing could happen. Till then we will have to guess.
never!!! xD anywho... since am new to this serie i have no idea how long its been on the air... i dont even know if the serie is already over or not? :)
Actually, it's done more than you think. See, it may be a kid's show, but these shows are written by ADULTS. And these adults are certainly capable of adult thoughts. I've seen this in other shows, and even some old movies. See, since kids don't understand subtext, it's okay for them to put some incredibly vague things in there for other viewers to find out. So while they may not put any blatant content out there to suggest anything to a 7-year old, they may put something only we would see.
@pansyanddraco I know what you mean. You know, if there's ever something on a cartoon where an adult forbids boys from going near women friends because they "misjudge" them, I'm going to laugh.
Geez, Piper. Look at the hole that you've dug yourself into. JK! I know that Piper isn't gay. But on some episodes, things are a bit iffy. Especially in the Masked Masher. RUN, PIPER! RUN!
Stormhawks, oh man, I remember this show. I didn't really enjoy it that much, because I thought it was a rip off of Skyland. Maybe I can appreciate it more this time around.
oh okay. it's all in good fun. like the summary says "light-hearted commentary." it's supposed to be funny. mostly responded because your reply to pansyanddraco seemed pretty mean, calling peeopls dumbasses, and not totally to say whose right or not. i thought it was unfair no one called you out on that even if the comment was that old, now that i'm done goodbye = ] i don't want to take up too much room here..
Hotmanlion12 , I somewhat agree with you on that, I could never sign back in, TV Tropes has tough log-in security on its website, I was once a member, but not anymore.
@x13579x Also in Another Episode , Slade was berating Terra for her failure to " destroy " The Titans , she complained they " almost annihilated her " , Slade promptly slapped her across the room forcing her to the floor and turned ominously to The Camera , whispering " That`s nothing compared to what I`m going to do to you " . The Scene becomes EVEN more disturbing if you know what happened between Slade and Terra in The Comics !
She has the exact same facial structure like all the other females. All they did was give their female model brown skin. Piper can fit many ethnicities and nationalities and no particular ones at the same time. A classic "ambiguously brown" character. I dig her orange/blue contrast color scheme she has going on.
she's from a fantasy world so they all don't really belong to this worlds concepts of humans and all that lol but from her features, she does kinda resemble a dark-skinned Indian girl imo :P
No I would say Indian because I have meet a lot of Indian women with the same hair style as piper but then again she could either be Sri Lankan or Bangladish or Nepaliese
So is Piper straight or nah, because that's the last thing I need to know about another female character I loved as a child... I don't even think lesbians were hot topics back then and this show was created by Canadians plus her bio shows that she has feelings for Aerrow but all these comments and clips of random videos I find on my recommendations are saying something different with no clear answer, and I'm to hesitant to watch the show because I don't want to come across a scene that I'm not interested in seeing!
kind of hard to read sarcasm in a comment over the internet, at least the way you wrote it. also there is truth in jest, whether you intended there to be so or not. also, for one example, have you seen batman: the animated series..harley quinn and ivy? and that was in the 90s.
