I was there practicing when they filmed this. Good stuff. Now I know what you all were doing down there at the other end. I love Dad showing young buck how it is done. IMO, this is a more difficult house pattern than alot of other places.
Loved this Barney family video, it’s what’s right with the internet! I’ve got the harsh reality solid and Pearl, an exotic gem and a phase 2. Does this ball complement any of em?
Ball rolls nice man.. seems about as strong overall as a Gem but a stronger move off the spot! 4-5 boards more than the Ion. Just from me watching. Also noticed you guys never left a pin with this ball on the good shots.
When your son is younger, there is a point where you pull back and let him win without him knowing it. Then, when he's old enough to start giving you crap, you put your foot back on the gas. That is what we witnessed here. Nice one, dad.
Hey Chris what do you think 12 mph speed going to 14 lb have a Camo 14 lb pin down goes straighter also a Xponent width pin down hooks much more. Ordered a Xponent Pearl 14 which layout pin up or down
Chris Barnes, you conveyed a different layout on your vid when you weren't bowling your son...I only know what because I was trying to mimic your layout with my PSO and he said that wasn't it. I went back and watched the original video of you reviewing the ball... think it was 4.5x4x2... I'll have to look
Ryan just curious, what kind of grips do you use in your bowling ball. I’ve been trying to figure out as I definitely want to get into grips and every time I go to the pro shop I’m always sticking my hands into these very thick oval looking grips, and I can never find the the grips kinda like yours look…I.e. very spacious in which I could fit my fingers into the second knuckle. Can you please tell me what type of style this is or if there’s a certain type of modification I need to be getting my grips. Appreciate your time!
@@DNDDAME he uses vise grips. But it is a vacu grip. Hole is drilled a little bigger than the insert so allows for some swelling. Pro shop will know how to do it
@@BeefandBarnzy ahhh so it is more of a drilling technique for grips. This makes a lot of sense. Really appreciate the response! You guys rock and love yesterday’s chat/show.
I have a question about layout/drilling. So for me, if my pin is under my fingers that causes my solids to be extremely early, burn up, be rounder, and be weaker. Is that due to my PAP/mass bias, or would pin under the fingers have that effect on most one handers ball reaction? Also what would be a pin placement or layout for a solid that would sort of allow the ball to do what it was made to do and not make it be early and smooth or later and sharper?
As best I remember, a 4x4x2 is considered a benchmark layout on storm vls/2ls sheet. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but that should make/allow the ball to do its intended movement. There is so much more to it than that, though, so just make sure your proshop folks are helping you out.
@@b.r.fowler785I will not compete on the PWBA tour again. I truly love the game and miss it but those ladies are good! I enjoy league and some local tournaments when possible. Thank you for asking though!!! Hope you are doing great!
Meh..2 handers this 2 handers that....great example of high risk with the 2 handed style fully shown here...ryan missing a touch and it's catastrophe 👍 Chris can miss target and still gets away with it
