Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We'll be on the ground in Malta in just a few moments. Please have your sick bags at the ready, a flight attendant will collect them all with a trolley once we've landed !!
I was born in Malta, lived there for my first 16 years and I had never seen anything like this EVER, this is not normal weather. Those waves are a mini tsunami though we lived in St Julians and my dad used to get upset with me for walking on the side of the sea in bad weather but never like this or I wouldn't be here now. We're up to our eyeballs in snow if that helps you guys. All this snow is not too normal though I do remember a worse year. I hate snow, never got used to it.
Prosit. This is an excellent video capturing what we faced. The scenario at Sliema opposite Manuel Island affected only a few meters of the parabolic curved road which focuses the waves to a narrow path not more than ten metres, and there was never any danger of anyone getting hurt, unless they were fools to walk by the focused edge, nor was there any danger of any cars being swept in the sea. It was not necessary for the private cars nor the police to drive through that salt water, as there are diversion road close by. As for the aircraft landing, it was a steady wind in line with the runway and it is a pilot's delight to land in such continuity winds as we do not have shear winds. All the wings of the aircraft were pretty horizontal all the time. and the video clearly shows that there was no crosswind. The two and three storey high buildings on the side of that Sliema road, buffer the wind to reflect and change to an upward direction , so that was a low pressure area, The boxes that were toppled over were the ticket light wooden boxes, where tourists buy their tickets for the usual sea trips to other destination. The boats which dragged their anchor were cases of anchoring an up an down vertical chain, or rope and such a system will break the anchoring line or bollard so easily. Those who knew their ropes, did not suffer any damage. Again, prosit, this was an excellent capture of the storm at various locations, In such a situation when the sun was shining, I caught the sight of small rainbows appearing in the spray column as the sea broke over the rocks at Valletta. It also happens at many other places where the rainwater drops over a high edge and breaks into droplets, which will refract the rainbow colours. I was lucky to have seen all this while I was courting my wife over fifty years ago and also I saw Saint Peter's Halo ( Overhead Rainbow around the sun at midday) over my head at Ta' Qali , on a hot moist very sunny day. www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.shutterstock.com%2Fsearch%2Frainbow-around-sun&psig=AOvVaw2k5-xJw7-ptRYpezaDqrLr&ust=1708128243753000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBMQjRxqFwoTCKCaiIPIroQDFQAAAAAdAAAAABAE
@@cereal1208 A bit the number 1 thing was that we couldn't go near the sea or we ll be in danger but apart from that it was ok it was just that my b day plans had to get cancelled:((
Amazing.. but I've seen worse.. However the Bravery of the Pilot's there in this castwind and all is Admirable..Bravo.. Thank you for sharing All the best to you all 💕✈✌😎💕ps.. Climate change is Reality ⏰
Foi por uma dessas que Paulo passou. Perdeu-se a carga e o navio mas ninguém pereceu. Relato conhecido sobre Malta. E o evangelho foi pregado ali. Ver livro de Atos dos Apóstolos Cap 27 e 28:1
Stupid people messing around next to the water! Fair enough if you don’t care enough for your own life but think of the rescuers who have to go and search for you when you get swept away!
I’m not saying them storms don’t come every few years I’m saying it’s plain stupid to go stand next to the water when there is a storm like this. Regardless how many times there’s a storm you can still get swept away and have to be rescued...
charled dasilva • ATC knows that the pilots in command of their aircraft will go around or divert if necessary. They let pilots make the call UNLESS tornado or earthquake or flood or some such. Or were you looking for a reason to close that I’m not aware of?
Someone at the auto plant installed the steering wheels on the wrong side. I would have taken it back and have them installed properly on the left side.
Anyone help please tell me what this sweet/ desert is I had before pretty sure from Malta. Is like a nougat/ nutty / paste / chalky texture very sweet but lovely. I was a kid and remember it being in a bucket or something simular.
