My son and his wife still don't have power or water. They have set up a camp stove and generator out on their deck. At least they have their home and they are so grateful for that. He told me this morning that when they go into town, it looks like a war zone. I can't believe so much devastation came from this storm. My daughter is a nurse and she I working at Mission Hospital, they lost water and were working on a generator, they have finally gotten power back, she is finding it hard to find a place to stay close to asheville, she is a contract nurse and lives in Tennessee, please pray for all of our essential workers, love you and your family

I can't say how much I adore and appreciate Tipper and her family and channel! I've been watching for a couple of years and she feels like a Godly, warm, and comfortable friend! I live in southern West Virginia and have a dear friend who lives in southern Georgia and stayed with her via our cell phones during that night of terror. We could not even begin to imagine that such a monstrous storm could curve around and do such devastating damage to NC and surrounding areas. We had some damage here in West Virginia but managable and we were in such a bad drought situation that I felt it was a blessing beyond the storm for those suffering from the drought. My heart is so broken for so many places in North Carolina and beyond. My friend in Georgia is still without power and we're concerned for Florida with the next hurricane. Like Tipper said, pray, pray, pray!! My heart goes out to all and we have folks from our church trying to deliver things to North Carolina. Our Pastor last week told us to pray big! We do serve a mighty God and why wouldn’t we ask God for the impossible, he is mighty and we serve an awesome God, I have been Praying big for all of these people who were in the path of this hurricane. Good Morning, My Brother and his family live in Southwest Florida. He is an Occupational Therapist in Lee county Florida and is working in a rehab facility. He is working through this storm and starting this morning helping to evacuate their facility and moving all the current patients to other facilities that historically don’t flood. This is a tremendous effort. Please pray for all Health Care workers ,that sacrifice being with their families During these stressful times to care for their patients. Pray for their families that will be without their family member during this storm. Pray that this storm will be downgraded to a manageable size storm. Thank you for your Christian platform. 💕

I saw where a lady was trying to donate used clothes and she said that FEMA wouldn’t allow it but they didn’t have any money to give the victims of the hurricane relief so I don’t see any harm when they had lost everything and it would help keep them warm
I’m afraid that is not the role of FEMA ( they are coordinating and helping people access funding and shelter) They cannot take donations monetary or goods. Find your local church or for station and ask if they can use them ( they may not have the space to stock everything)
My sister's church sent a semi truck load of items, the pastor said they was able to get into the area this morning after sun rise, sending prayers for everyone from Arkansas

I'm in East TN and it is pretty bad here. Many people have lost everything, including many of my family and friends. One of the things we are GOING to need as we go into Winter is hay. Many of our hay farms are next to the river and we had just bailed the last cutting of the season and many of them washed away. So, when we start running out, we will have to try to sell off livestock which is another financial hit for families. None of that has been set up to receive hay yet, but a heads up, that's going to be a problem. Another thing is that tomatoes are commercially grown on the Nolichucky River and they had just started harvesting and loading large trucks and all the bridges are gone or damaged so they can't cross. Many of those fields are washed away, so the prices of anything tomato based will be rising across the country. I can confirm, the bees are mad after the flood. They are not happy about losing their homes either!
Praying for everyone in all the affected areas. Please pray for us here in Florida as we are expecting another devastating hurricane. Milton was upgraded to a Cat 4 on his way to Cat 5.
The First Baptist Church of Swananoa is a donation hub for the Swananoa area. Also, Troy Lee Green's RU-vid channel has some interesting stories. His mother was in an assisted living facility in Spruce Pine and all the residents had be airlifted by helicopter to different facilities in surrounding areas. I appreciate you keeping us updated on the relief efforts. I'm praying that God brings healing to everyone affected. So many people saw and experienced horrible things. I pray God takes away the bad memories and allows them to move forward.
Many prayers for all , it breaks my heart to watch on tv , i live in the ozark mountains and it seems a million miles away I can tell from watching people in the areas are strong people and they help each other and they will come out of this, I found out I can donate at my local Walmart and Walmart will match it. I noticed that I have a habit of saying , "I don't have any money so I guess all I can do is pray." I realized that I was going about it all wrong when you mentioned that the best and the first thing we should do is pray! I've been praying for the victims of Helene every time I think of them, which is often. I'll add Florida to the list as Milton is supposed to hit them pretty hard. Thank you Tipper for all the great information, Katy shared some yesterday that I saw and that was very helpful as well. I am praying for all the states effected by Hellene, my own state included as we prepare for Milton. I love all the wisdom and when you shared the one about if the devil can't make you bad he'll keep you busy, I remembers that was on a little plaque at a church I went to years ago, and they had one in the baby nursery that said "some may sleep, but all will be changed. I really thought that was cute and hearing those gave me something to smile about in the midst of all the crying for all the hurting people. Many tears and much prayer in the last week.

Week of Compassion is affiliated with the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. They are like Samaritans purse and are always there to help storm victims very early on. Please pray for Bakersville, Mitchell county NC. They make have to wait 3-6 months for electricity.

The World Kitchen is working in all affected areas of Hurricane Helena from Virginia to Florida which includes The East TN and WNC area. Dogs and cats that are found they are feeding also. They have kennels for them. They are providing hot cooked meals for first responders, the National Guard and Military and delivering to high elevated places and anyone that was affected. I seen a RU-vid video on it.

It is so encouraging that so many are having power restored. As Tipper said, there are thousands, tho, that it's not even possible because of inaccessability. They will be without power "indefinitely." Hopefully, future donations from these different places can go towards generators. Prayers that those who still have a sound home can stay in them if they choose to. God is our main refuge, but family and home are almost everything else. So many to help, but saw a video of a small bakery in Asheville that started a go fund me on Facebook. They'd stocked up for the busy season, so used all of those supplies to feed 300 a day last week. Now, making 200 loaves of bread a day as peanut butter is being provided at distribution sites, but no bread. Just a husband and wife business that needs a hand. The name of it is West End Bakery in Asheville. As of now, 11am, they've had $36,549 donated, but need much more to continue this wonderful service and recoup their personal loss of income. Hey Tipper, My sister has a great idea about plastic bins. Pack them full of everything these people need. They will use these items up fast and be left with a bin for the precious belongings they have salvaged. Also tarps. We had a family in E Ky who lived under their trampoline by covering the ground and the trampoline with tarps. They would not leave their property to protect what little they had left. They survived for weeks like that. Important paper items that have gotten wet can be stored in a freezer to keep them from rotting and molding. I know they say everything is replaceable but pictures are not. Hindman Settlement School did this and many this and many documents were able to to restored. They may be able to help when this is all over. In E Ky we learned so much we never wanted to know, thank you for letting me share. The Bristol Speedway is a wonderful operation. Wake County Animal Center has an Amazon wish list. They've been taking in animals from the impacted areas, trying to get them back to people, but as you can imagine, they're struggling to keep up with the number of animals. Animals are a comfort to people in stressful situations, so might be another avenue that people could consider donating to. (Not in any way suggesting animals are more important than people, but for many, animals are family, too.).

I had warm used jackets, gloves, scarfs, blankets and clothing to donate. And i had to bring it back home because we were told they couldn't accept it because Fema would confiscate it or shut them down. It broke my heart knowing the cold was coming and I know many survivors would need them and appreciate it. Does anyone know of a place would take them and use them to give survivors that could use them.
Fema does not tell other groups what to offer. Practically speaking where are clothes donations to be kept before churches and schools are able to help?
When you were talking about some people thinking you should not make videos about your life when there is so much devastation and some others thinking you shouldn’t keep talking about the tragedy, I was reminded of a saying my program director/professor used to say … “Some people wouldn’t be happy in Heaven with a harp”. 😉
It will be a long while before Ingles can get deliveries out to there stores and that is going effect a lot people who have only their store in their area. Now another huge hurricane out there.
Regarding Ham radio: you do NOT need a license to transmit during an emergency. Obviously, you don't want to tie up the channel more than you have to, but if you need help, you can legally use the Ham radio system and transmit. There are exceptions granted to normal use regulations during emergencies.
