I live near a beach in Connecticut, Even tropical storms can produce storm surge too, My house isn't even directly on the coast but I still may get flooded a bit, I'm glad I learned that the real danger is actually the water and not wind

remember 4 out 5 deaths are attributed to WATER not WIND in a hurricane

FL too with Ian with its 15 foot storm surge wiped out Fort Meyers Beach and that whole area of FL. It is still not remotely returned to normal after years, now! ) :
