Don't forget to wrap those guy lines around the poles so they're directly supporting the pole (especially where the poles cross in the front)! Great tent.
Good review. Now that I am watching this, I didn't realize that this tent was so similar to my Saivo BL tent. I like it a lot, but I just wish the vestibule was larger - a GT size. It's already heavy, might as well add a pound for a vestibule and better when getting out to keep water out of the tent. Great tents!
Beautiful tent, nice video. I also love that snowy spot where you put the tent up. I use a Hilleberg Unna tent during my sea kayak trips. Love to see other Hillies in use. Greetings from Spain.
Hey Anton, for starters nice to see you set up the tent with gloves on... Nice reviews android introduction to your channel. I always lock down the focus of the camera ha ha and boost the exposure when you are in the tent so that you can see the blacks... Why cant I see your reply to other comments? Subbed to your Chanel too.. ATB Tom
Hey there, I just watched your video on ur solo Mont Blanc hike. My goal is to clib it this summer and i am already training for it but i am not quit sure how to do it. Do i book a guid or do I try it solo. Do U have any advice what is better and what was the most dangerous/hardest part about it?
If you are not experienced moving in alpine terrain and using climbing equipment like crampons, ice axe and how to preform crevasse rescue and move “safe” over glacier terrain, you should really get a guide, or go with an more experienced friend. A good way to start out is to gain experience little by little in the mountains :D
@@hikingswede Ya thank you so much. I have some experience on climbing equipment and how to use it in snow but not on glacier terrain. My plan now is to do a glacier rescue course one month in advance and then be well-prepared. I guess the most dangerous part is the weather and if it's not 100% good I will go home and try again next year smarter and already aware of the situation.
I am looking to get this tent, does it get very hot inside in the Summer? This also depends on what type of Summer you get up there in Sweden, as opposed to here in my home country of Croatia :)
@@hikingswede thank you for getting back to me, that's what thought. Well, i think i will have to get the MSR Hubba Hubba NX2 then, and leave the Jannu for Winter.
The Jannu comes in red label only while the Soulo comes in both red and black label. That's quite a difference, especially the more rigid BL 10,5mm poles. I do like the Jannu though, very roomy and 'bombproof'. But I chose the (red label) Soulo for my 3 season solo hikes (no real winter experience yet). 12 guy lines, a couple backstaked if needed. The tent will flap somewhat enthusiastically in brutal winds but doesn't budge or move. Just lovely.
Really no need, I've used this foretress in 30m/s+ winds during winter storms. The seams will start taking damage before the poles if it is placed correctly and a snow barrier is built.
