In the original the kid wanted his dad to kill a spider but his dad told him why he shouldn't since life is valuable. Now, the dad wants the kid to kill a monkey but the kid told him why he shouldn't since (idk).

Problem with this one is that it's too "Lol a monkey so randum XD". What made the first one so great was that it was a song about a really mundane and relatable situation, but visualized in the most batshit insane way possible.

It just kinda feels like when a bunch of business men try to weigh in on the success of something that cannot be easily explained, but they try to take the most basic things from it and make it something they hope will be just as successful, and it fails to capture that inconceivable character that the original had. But Garrett Davis was involved, the creator of the original, so how did it end up being this?

Wow, it feels just like all those times when someone bought the rights to something I loved and destroyed it for profit. Other than the characters, it's got borderline nothing to do with the first. A sequel in name only.

This one is like the total oposite of north america -the animation is digital now -the sound is better now -the resolution is better -the kid is different -the animation is worse -and the dad wants to kill in this one instead of saveing -and it has no meaning while in the original the meaning was clear So i think it's a perfect sequel

this video is nothing like the first one. the first one was a relatable moral dilemma with an authority father figure that reminded me of god, teaching his kid the right thing to do, with disturbing animation. this one? this is just weird shit.

This video has a very mixed reception, so I’ll address that quick. I know this is a parody that is supposed to be the exact opposite of the original, literally everyone who doesn’t find it funny has gotten a reply like that. But as many said, it still kinda feels like a forced attempt at humour coming from the popularity of the original. Of course everyone has their own sense of humour though, more power to you if you enjoy it.

As somebody who has lived in South America, this video depicts it the best: a mess, nothing make sense and at the end monkeys win because nobody did nothing about them.

I don't get the hate for that one, after father and son had their little spider talk they wanted to give back to the community and started working at the animal prison. The father got jaded after a while because of the horrid crimes some of the animals did whilst fighting his worsening dementia, the son on the other hand hasn't forgotten about his father's lessons and tries to be gentle and caring. Sadly the atrocities done by the father where not forgiven by the monkeys and they drowned the father and his well meaning kid. The lesson is to never ease up, they probably also should have also killed the spider in the first.

Well this one sucks.

I swear, this is an exact reference to slavery back then. I will tell you why with no personal opinion involved and no racism intended. The monkeys (Black Men) are being held as prisoners (Oppressed by the White Man) but soon, a gang of monkeys (Revolts) break out. The old man says it isn't true (Basically saying "How can they revolt? They are just black people!") and he then says that he wouldn't kill them (Even though he thought about doing so.) but he would instead sell them (As in sell them into slavery) in which he would sit back with his cash and buy luxury goods.) Hell, notice how when he "Knocks them Out", he puts them on a BOAT and the next scene is him selling them. Then the boy shows him that they ARE here at the moment, and that they are stealing glue (Using up resources.) and then he shows that the monkey has killed their animal and that it might kill them (They are trying to revolt, so they fear for their lives.) The colored sand art I can't figure out and may have just been added for lyrical effects. Then, he says that he will "Hold him down while you stab him in the heart." (Saying that he will end his life for revolting.) While the child tries to do it, he hesitates because he finds a slight amount of value (Basically, the child, as in the less biased individual, is finding that they aren't so bad.) So he decides to take a picture. The father agrees but only does it so he can post it, only seeing the friendship as a way to make a profit. (Befriending slaves so that they work for him better.) Soon, the monkey gains control and starts to torture the child (The slaves sees past this pseudo friendship and revolts once more.) The father immediately jumps to killing him, saying that it will go viral. (The slave owner will have stopped the revolt, being known by others as a man of power.) The child however stops him and says that he wants to keep him, to fatten up and eat him. (The child is trying to start a true friendship, and to convince his dad to let him keep him, he says that he will simply befriend him to put him back into slavery, but only to trick his father.) The father replies, saying that the child is disgusting and that he will turn him in. (He sees past the trick and will turn him in for siding with the slaves.) He then goes on to say how they are disgusting and have "Fleas and Rabies" (Which refer to AIDS and other 3rd world diseases.) He then says that they racked up bills on his debit card. (Which is saying that, even despite being a different color, they can still be thieves, but he uses this to only put more anger on them.) However, he then says that while they may be untrustworthy, (Due to past revolts) he says they are cute (He starts to see that they can be just like everyone else.) and says that if you teach him manners and dress him well, you can keep him. (Saying that if you teach him to act like everyone else and have the same feelings, that you can keep him.) He then says that you must bring him up as part an honorable member of society (Raise them to think past the binds of slavery.) and to wear this mask, but then he changes his mind and says to just accept him for who he really is. (He tries to think that the black man is white and puts a WHITE MASK on him. But then he realizes that the color does not matter and that he is good despite being black.) He then finishes with "These monkey are a great group of guys, I'll accept them as my ki(n). (He finally accepts them as the same as everyone else.) but then, he is cut off by a dart into his heart. (The black men making their oppressors pay for their crimes despite their acceptance.) and the monkeys just sit back and act as if nothing happened, which could either be for comedy, or relating to another thing that I really wouldn't want to talk about in a RU-vid comment section. That sums it up. No racism was intended.

The original was iconic, memorable, and actually required talent. Drawing each painstaking frame of the original would of taken ages while the new one is static. The art is also diminished heavily in this one with each frame looking rushed/messy, lines all have the same consistency and colours are extremely flat/uninspired. Even the voice actors sound more rushed and silly while the old one had an old-timey 1900s sound to it and were a lot easier on the ears. This looks like a half-baked shit animation you'd see on the Newgrounds newest animations list from the early 2000s.
