Story of Heilung 

I can’t believe that Maria thought she wasn’t pretty. I think she is beautiful inside and out.

Having spent all my life in the US, we sadly lack the culture that is otherwise profound throughout Europe. I've longed for a sense of belonging here, but organized religion was certainly not it. I am so thankful to Heilung, for they have opened my eyes to a rich and beautiful heritage, as well as a thriving community of the most wonderful people.

I saw them live and it was life changing, there were time's where I was moved to tears, truly an amazing experience.

Everything happens for a reason. That's not to say there is any reasoning in it.🌱 I am greatful the three of you were listening, heard the call, and genuinely with reverence continue helping us all to turn the poison into medicine.🔥

Interesting as this is, I feel you leave out the important fact that Maria and Christopher had been recording together as Euzen and doing some quite interesting stuff in video form for some years previously. And that Christopher had also been involved with a more grass roots electro-medieval project called Valravn, which Maria also guested with several times. Euzen even warmed up for Valravn on one tour of Denmark. Both those bands were very special. I miss the hell out of both of them. The way this is presented makes it seem as if Kai and Christopher magically produced a career in music out of thin air, which was not the case. The Castlefest appearance would surely not have been possible if Euzen's appearance at the same festival a few years before hadn't been such a big success.

That origin story is something I feel so close to. Maria & Kai are like birds of a feather with me. I still long for that connection. But I am an outcast amongst outcasts. I thank you all for your hard work of art that I have luckily found.

These people are so real. I simply love them.. They take me to a place i am also love.. They show me how to remember...

I have been drawn to the Norse culture and growing as i got older then discovering from ancestors tree services i am related to Ragnar Lodbrok on my fathers side. We both now share Norse history and merch and enjoy Heilung and more to discover.

Having grown up strictly Evangalical (in a part of the world where it wasn't even popular), Greek mythology also was my gateway drug. I think it's so popular for curious Christian children as a lot of christian thought expands upon pre-christian Greek and Roman philosophy (mostly stoicism and Platonisism), so somehow there is some cultural acceptance for engaging with texts of that mythology. That same leniecy didn't expand to Germanic paganism however.

Once my trust isveqrned, my behavior will change from strengh to love.

Thank you for this video that allows an insight on their previous lives. I feel lucky to have met them backstage of Castlefest 2017 where I was also playing, after their concert I was deeply emotional and even cried while they recited the elder futhark, that performance was legendary, a true portal to the otherworld opened during that concert. I was so supersized when Christopher and Maria said that was the first time they ever performed it like that, it felt that they were joking, but they were not. They are amazing and the world definitely need their healing powers.

I grew up strictly religious like Kai, and also have questioned feeling like I was alone, the only one who didn’t agree. I was so surprised to find other people like me! Writing helped me so much, this will forever be my fav group and music.

This brings a tear to my eye. Hail to the people of the old ways! Peace to all

It s so amazing to reconnect to our old roots

Just found this band. It was Maria's outfit that caught my eye on RU-vid, so I clicked on it and listened. WOW, this is like Kai's singing is taking every toxic thought, feeling and emotion from your soul and then you are transported like a baby to be cradled by Maria's voice of soothing angelic tones, one day I wish to see them for the experience, they are magnificent to say the least.

This was such a BEAUTIFUL video!! Am i the only one who thinks the narrator sounds like Maria herself? Lol

Saw them live in Amsterdam a few days ago on the 21st. I also saw them rise at castlefest. If you haven't been. Trust me, this is an experience you do not want to miss, especially knowing what kind of world we are currently living in. We have lost our connection with nature and due to that, with each other and ourselves. I'm glad they are touring the world. The world needs to go back to it's roots. Reconnect

The energy behind your sounds your luck your beat it drives me to you. It woke me up in the middle of the night almost I can’t explain it to where I must seek and find the beauty in this ritual for the Earth is the birthday cake and the wedding cake and we are at guides and guardians and we lost our way, thank you so much for reminding us all of us our way❤

I can understand very well this feeling: as a child, I wanted to study and become an archeologist. Then, things changed and I didn't study Archeology, but nothing can make me feel more alive than walking among Etruscan or Roman ruins and meeting people who try to reenact the old civilizations of my beloved country.

Of course Maria is the Goddess to us all but now I feel MUCH closer to Kai too. I love Heilung!

im so glad people are returning to the old ways, the true ways, before evil (Christians) took control of everything.

Who knows the soundtrack from the video? And what´s its name it´s the third time I´ve heard it it´s mesmerizing and I would like it as part of the music I listen to while trail running in the mountains where Kai was born, maybe he doesn´t remember it but we´ve met twice at the Hagebaumarkt years ago.

I have to echo Xaform on this. I can relate there, it was like one had no right to even try. I have been writing off and on and have taken to listening to Celtic music more. While I have sensed being pushed away from regular folk life. I know while they don’t want me I still have to live amongst them.

It makes me enjoy this band even more knowing that kai and i had nearly the same childhoods. Down to the darker parts of it. Funny enough, Heilung is the band that pulled me in, so in a way, Kai pulled a fellow wayward soul into a better life. So thank you to Kai, Christopher, and Maria.

As an American who has strong Viking Heritage I love Heilung their music has always called to my Viking blood . ❤❤❤❤

I also took the path with Kai. I read lots of books about Egypt and the Greek pantheon into Satanism in middle school. The myths are fun to read with the added benefit of seeing through the eyes of others. 🖤🍻⚔️

I was raised to believe I was ugly (all my peers from kindergarten until graduation), and in a strict Christian no tv household too. I’m 43 and now finding myself drawn to this way of life or existence with nature which always brought me peace. (Paganism, I guess, although I don’t label it). 😢

For a strange reason I feel new to Heilung. yet I've followed them for about 3 years I suppose. Ive been Pagan for years. Also a musician in rock bands and listened to various ethnic instruments. Heilung are not just an experimental sound. They like all brothers and sisters are part of my journey this time round. I live in the UK county of Essex. Which was once part of Danes law, These were my ancestors, Heilung brings me closer to them and the culture. Also gives me a deeper connection in many way. Heilung have created a sound that brings us all closer together. All Hail unto them,
