Story of My Bong Gujju Wedding | Stand-up Comedy by Abijit Ganguly 

Hi Guys - Thanks for all the appreciation. Means a lot and makes what we do worth doing. And yes, since a lot of you have raised this question, the wife's absolutely fine with me doing these jokes. As long as I make some money out of it. These Gujaratis are smart people, I tell you. I see some hate comments on how dare I do that to old people. To make matters clear, and I don't believe I'm having to say this, I didn't really kick Baa and she is indeed safe and sound. In fact the first time I did this joke, my Father in Law told her about it and after a deep thought and poignant pause she said those golden words, 'Jai Shri Krishna'. She's fun, kind of like our personal Hodor. I also see some hate comments on how dare I make fun of Gujaratis/Muslims/Bengalis. I love the trend that seems to be 'hahahaha roflmao lolsies' at jokes on all other communities, and 'how dare you' at jokes on one's own. Come on guys, we can be better than that. The ability to laugh at yourself comes with a lot of reassurance and deep-rooted security in what you are and what you believe in. I’m not expecting all will have that, but I hope some do. I'll release the second part of the story, in around a week's time. Hope you all enjoy that too. Baaki ummeed pei toh duniya kayam hai.
