I can tell you from my own experience that this was actually fortunate for Magnus. I was the Lego world champion in 1975, although for privacy I have changed my name from Robby Fincher - yes I was _the_ Robby Fincher. It was my name used in the film "Searching for Robby Fincher." My Lego obsession led to madness and homelessness, which took decades to recover from.
His father has exactly the same gestures and facial expressions when answering questions and they sit and talk in the exactly the same way thats very funny

The image at 8:10 is so powerful. This little master, with a bunch of older onlookers cramped up beside him. It's astonishing he could even concentrate in this moment, at such a young age. Mad props to him.
My 7 and half old son who is playing chess since last 1and half years loves chess and is working hard day night to achieve and be a World Champion like you. He would have been very fortunate if he could get trained from you.
Keep suporting your kid and motivate him. My parents didn't motivate me or pursuaed me to do anything as a kid and now i'm 20 year old bum who is bad at everything lol
I really appreciate that your son loves chess and has high hopes for the future. But there are a thousand other kids out there same age or even younger than him who see the same dream. Magnus was never trained by Garry Kasparov or Vishwanath Anand and still became the world champion. If your son has the perseverance and talent he will reach his goal even with little guidance. Maybe if he becomes a GM you might approach Magnus and he just might (very big might) be interested.
He is a silent guardian, a watchful protector, the hero that chess needs but not the one it deserves, he is magnus carlsen, "the best chess player that ever lived"
I don’t know why I am so fascinated with Magnus. He is arrogant, rude, sometimes acting like a petulant child, not personable in any way but I want him to win every single game....
I'm quietly hoping that once Magnus loses his title by not playing the world chess championship match, he will somehow find the motivation to play the candidates tournament again and take it back. Now that would be fucking epic
This makes me understand how rich and cultural the game of chess is in certain experiences, ethical, moral and cultural values in knowledge construction and social and cultural development and entertainment. GM Magnus Carsen always continues with this seriousness and responsibility in chess, you have really achieved great achievements in the history of chess, an exceptional talent in excellent results, discipline and a good harmonious balance in the game. One more thing, when I was a kid, my hair was blonder and the color of the sun than your Magnus. I am so happy for the vivid memories and something tangible you are building in your time in the world of GM Magnus chess, this is the first vision and the true real strength of a chessboard and its pieces that propelled an exceptional talent like you into the world of chess.
Love you magnus from india. I always want to know about your life story today this vedio helps me to know what i want to know . Very nice magnus. As a big fan of you , i also want to know about you more and more.
When we take for granted going to mcdo without worries and ice cream being the cheap dessert. Nice to see someone as great as Magnus had the most wonderful memories with just these
I think in mostly countries except US in those days McD wasn't considered cheap, the real local food was cheap and it still is the case where they have got actual local food.
yeah, but eventually someone will be better than him, also if were talking about the greatest chess genius of all time, its 100% paul morphy no doubt, he was the best chess player of all time in the sense of despite being in a time where there wasnt much information and good players, paul morphy was able to get to a very high level relative to his time
It’s kind of funny to see the World Championship matches played in intimate, confined locations. The chess sets and venues should get bigger to reflect the status of a match: for the WC, they should play with human-sized chess pieces in the center of a huge arena.
