As a former educator I have witnessed too many people go to college and follow a "traditional" path only to be miserable because they didn't really know what they wanted to do, they went out of obligation, or they spent money on getting a degree they weren't passionate about. We are not all carbon copies of one another, or as you stated 'a square peg fitting into a round hole' (I remember that line from Bridget Jones's Diary 😉). Everyone has a unique path in life. There are no hard and fast rules on how to do it right. Choosing to do something outside the norm is what makes each person's story special! You are a ray of sunshine! Don't let someone try and put out your light with their darkness. When this happens - shine brighter! Okay, done with my rant! My grandmother was American but 100% German. She spoke both languages fluently English and German. She was also a beauty and in beauty pageants. She was my best friend in the world. Hi Leonora, I wanted to send this to you in an email, but couldn't figure out how to do it. I was so taken with your story about how your horses impacted your life - they are magnificent creatures! I'm sure there was an extraordinary bond between you and JB (Johnny Boy). So special and so strong. I recently have come across a channel called The Moons. This is a family in France who rescue Elite Sport horses, specifically from the Show Jumping world. These champions are the top competitors who turned out at the highest of level and are LEGENDS in their field. These horses are forgotten about after they "serve their purpose", most times being sold and their original owners have lost track of them and the horses have lost their papers/passports - winding up in dire circumstances. Actually being sold at the end of their career (not end of life ie:old age) into the meat trade=meat man. These noble horses are just thrown to the side and are unrecognized for who they were/are, and their superior contributions to the sport of Show Jumping. The Moon family have created Legacy of Legends and rescue these horses to their farm in France to bless them with dignity and respect in their old age. The Moons are actively working to get legislation in place to prevent this kind of treatment. I am so moved by their love and commitment and I thought as you and your horse were in this world you would be interested in their plight. I encourage you to check out their youtube channel especially the story of rescuing the latest LEGEND - Grace. Sorry for the long comment, but I feel so led to inform you about this very important movement. You might even recognize some of the horses!

Wow, you didn’t have to share your personal journey with us, but you did in a truly enjoyable recap. You are brave doing so , if I do say so. Due to so many who seem to like to tear down a person on social media. Good for you and all your achievements. Wishing you an even brighter future (if that’s at all possible). I got up and made a cup of tea and a buttered hot cross bun and returned to bed this Good Friday morning to sit up and watch your vlog. Lo and behold I spilt my cup of tea all over me and the sheets and doona. Silly me. Regardless, I continued to watch. Interesting background! As the parent of 2 grown daughters I totally can imagine how your mother felt with the hotel situation. My youngest, age 28, is extremely driven with her career in medical sales. It takes a particular personality to deal with society these days. Setting goals is the way to go. Thank you Leonora for an interesting vlog! I have noticed that you acknowledge and answer all your messages on RU-vid and our interaction makes my day as you come across as being as interested in me as I am in you without being stalkerish !!! I also think that if you work really hard you can achieve most things. When I left school at 16 I worked in a factory making printed circuit boards for TV's with little job satisfaction. A typist position became available in one of the offices and as I had already passed my first exam at school, I thought I would nail it! I had the interview and typing test but then received a letter from the Personnel Manager confirming I was unsuccessful and if I wanted to find out why to speak the Personnel department. The next day during my lunch half hour still wearing my overall and with that letter, I went up to the department and saw that the Manager was in his office, I knocked and went in and basically asked him why I wasn't good enough for the job! He told me very nicely that the standard of my typing had let me down because I had made too many mistakes. He invited me to sit down and we sat and we talked for a while and I told him I was determined that I would go to night school to improve myself and that I wasn't going to stay in the factory forever. As I got up to leave he said if and when I were to pass my next typing exam, I was to go back and see him with my pass certificate. I did exactly that. Mr Pursey remembered me and was pleased when I told him I had passed and showed him the crisp certificate. Do you know what, he told me the company was going to sponsor me and send me for day release to a Secretarial College and they were going to cover all the fees!!!! There I took my last typing exam, learned shorthand and various other office tasks. I was absolutely delighted and I loved going and learning more. I worked for that company for 15 years and ended up as an Executive Secretary working for the Managing Director. When Mr Pursey retired I asked him why he had given me such an opportunity (it hadn't been done before) he said that he had never been approached by such a determined and confident 16 year old, who sat and listened to his advice, looked him in the eye and shook his hand. I will never forget him. Not sure why I am telling you all this and rambling on , but I guess you have to have confidence in yourself first before any one else can. X

We aren't rich in pennies and we struggle with health problems, but you are one of the many people and places we draw inspiration from. (I feel like that is an obvious yes) What does mark do as a carrier? I would love to see more interiors and have a home tour. I love seeing peoples houses, kitchens, pantry, and closets. Everytime you say the Sheikh I think of Ben Hur and how I wonder if charioteering is common in those areas of the Middle East. Honestly it was such a nice thing about the story that even though he fell unjustly accused and came back up from the galleys ,he had such a good bond with the horses and his friend,and went looking for his family and healing.
