"Dornröschen war ein schönes Kind" - this well-known and popular german song for kids by Margarethe Löffler has been around for over 120 years.
It is based on one of the most famous fairy tales: Sleeping Beauty.
It is often treated as a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, since they published the story slightly changed in their fairy tale collection "Children's and Household Tales". But they used a French story by Charles Perrault "The sleeping beauty in the forest".
