Well. Even if player is guilty, Frisk was being creepy in the genocide. Not even talking about narrators wish for knives. For example, they did try to intimidate the monster kid by being creepy (and they smiled? Or they were smiling at flowey). Even tried to initiate the fight between the monster kid and themselve (though, it still did Monster kid). At Papyrus enconter - they themselves have approached him (though, it could have been an attempt to spare him? But than they would have gone away from him, not approach). They even scared Flowey (a soulless thing) and made the final step at judgement hall, initiating the fight between Frisk and Sans. There is also the expressions that Sans could read from Frisk's face, like how many times we died or that we are pissed off/in rage. Player - does the act, nothing more. Frisk - shows the emotions, while Player can't do it. Yes, we can say that Frisk was that way because of Level of Violence, alright, but don't forget about it
On that the genocide - that was Chara, not Frisk. Other routes - yes, it is Frisk. The Player controls which route to take but not independent expressions and actions of the characters, you're right.

I honestly don't believe in the player theory. I think that's just an Easter egg when you try to hack the game. There's honestly more evidence of Chara forcing/encouraging Frisk to do genocide than there is for a mysterious player who can somehow possess a kid and a *ghost* at the same time.

I don't think it's about doing the same mistake over and over again that upsets chara the most. It's more like chara is disappointed with frisk that he's/she's willingly doing it without the control of the player, on the first string scene we can see that frisk is controlled by it but on the next scene we see frisk dancing with sans's death body, but this time with the string is now no longer controlling her/him
Can you please have them react to hurting for a very hurtful pain? No pressure or anything, I think it just better puts Killer's mentality and trauma in a more understandable perspective.
