It’s hard being a woman. If you’re a woman, you most likely have been objectified and can relate to some of the instances I share in this video. And if you can relate, I am so sorry because nobody deserves to feel uncomfortable for simply existing. Women are not here for the pleasure of others, we are not objects, we are people!! I already know I may get some angry feedback, but if you’re a man commenting on this video upset by me sharing my experiences you are apart of the problem!!

I'M a guy, and I had creepy encounters with guys. There were a couple of times, a guy (it was different people each time), would offer me a ride home. I never saw any of them before. I was on the sidewalk minding my own business, going where I was going, and they happened to be driving by. As much as I could have used a ride, I'm not gonna randomly get into a random person's car. And then they would wind up knowing where I lived, if I even made it home? I said no every time. And they drove off after that. I never saw any of them again, so that was the end of it. The last time, there was another guy, a pedestrian, who said out loud to himself, "I wish someone would offer me a ride." I thought that guy was stupid. I imagined the drivers might have wanted to rob me and beat me up and leave me somewhere, or something like that. There's no reason to randomly offer a ride to random strangers, at random moments. There were also a couple of times, I would be at a store, and weird guys walked up to me. Again, different guys each time. One day, I was at a shopping center. I was on my way to clean a church at that moment. (At the time, I cleaned a church weekly). I had time to shop first. On this particular day, first, I went into the Family Dollar that was there at the time. This Family Dollar since moved down the street from the shopping center. So, I'm looking for a pop (soda) and chips, or something like that. Sometimes I would get that, on the way to the church on cleaning day. And, I would eat it when I first got to the church, or when I took a break from cleaning. While I'm in there, a guy walks in, and he notices me. Immediately, I could see he had googly eyes for me. I'm straight. I was like "Oh no!" He starts talking to me with interest, like a guy would normally talk to a lady with interest. I was trying to keep away and get out of there as quickly as possible, while at the same time, I was trying not to be rude and cause a scene. He's lucky it was me, cause many guys WOULD cause a scene if a guy tried hitting on them. Like, imagine Mr. T being hit on by a guy. So, he's lucky it was me. So, he happened to get in line and leave before I did. But then, when I walked out of Family Dollar, I noticed that, at the same time, he walked into the next store I was gonna go to. It was like a corner store (which, since closed down). I stood in front of Family Dollar like "Grrr....," and I waited for a moment. Then I was like "I'm gonna be late to the church if I don't just go shopping." So, I went in. He saw me, and he was glad. In this store, I remember I was looking for a thesaurus. I knew I saw one at that store before, and that was the day I could get it. I didn't see it that day. And, when I asked where to find it, the cashier didn't understand what I was looking for. But I kept shopping. So, the other guy who was shopping said he could help me find it. I just wanted find it myself and get out of there. They didn't have it that day, and I got it another day. So, this guy kept talking to me, and he even said to me "There's no reason to be scared of me." Which most would take as a red flag of, "Well then, we DO have to be afraid of you." I was thinking "If this guy makes any move beyond talking, I don't care I'm in a store, I'll hit him." Finally, he asked me if I was "funny." When I said no, he physically threw his hands in the air, and turned to the side, in disappointment. I saw the look on his face drop. That confirmed to me that he thought for sure that he was gonna get some "action" that night, and I knew he would have loved the action, if he had. I was upset after the question, cause what type of question is that to ask people? I know, for himself, he had to be sure, but still. Plus, his reaction to my answer said it all. So, I was upset. Separate incident, I was at a Dollar Tree, and when I walked in, a guy who was already in there, was passing by. He noticed me and got googly eyes, and excitedly said hi. I knew, like in the other story, what that meant. I didn't really see him much in the store, but once I got in line, my mom was in front of me, then I was next, then the guy got behind me in line, and he stood so close to me, one would think we were together, when we weren't. The whole time, he was about an inch away from me. Like, especially "down there." I was glad when I left the store. My mom noticed the guy that close to me, and she thought I didn't notice. I noticed, alright. Even ten year olds know better than to stand that closely to people, at all, let alone in that way. Those are MY stories.

I’m sorry you had to experience those moments!! I know I said in the video if you’re a woman you can probably relate, but I wasn’t trying to sound as though men can’t be s3xually harassed too, it happens to everyone unfortunately. I will say, it’s very scary when people are comfortable objectifying and catcalling/making unwanted advances on people in the daylight when other people are around, it makes you question what they’d do if you were alone and it was dark.
