Four nights in a Mountain Bothy in the snow and hail. Foraging for firewood, basic bushcraft, and some pauses for reflection.
Part of a semi-vlog series as I explore/adventure round Scotland's remote places.

Absolutely FANTASTIC video, good sir! I'm so happy to have discovered your channel. I'm a world away here in the northwest United States, and we just don't have anything like bothies in this neck of the woods. Watching your adventures is a real pleasure, and you particularly are a blast to watch. Stellar footage all around. What a time this must have been! My favorite part... and I know this will sound odd... is how you always address the firewood situation when you're at these remote bothies. I watch a lot of bushcraft & camping videos, and my favorite part is watching the firewood processing and all that. It's strangely therapeutic! LOL. Keep up the amazing work, my friend. Cheers, Watson PS: Oh, and if you are, indeed, asking us for suggestions regarding places we'd like to see you visit... Abyssinia Bothy comes to mind. It's famously haunted! Plus, it's situated in a forest area, so you'd have NO problems finding firewood! Take care!

Ah, thank you and I'm very glad you enjoyed it. I'll endeavour to devote a little more time to the firewood aspect in future. Abyssinia will now be on my list of ones to come and I do enjoy the back story behind a lot of them. I'll hopefully visit it in the next month and pop a video up. Thank you for the suggestion!

A video on how you plan a bothy trip. How you plan your route to the bothy, how you know if there is a water source etc

Aye, Strabeg is a fine bothy in a great location. Allway,s carry fuel in, yep it,s heavy, but if yer wanna comfy night? Kervaig was a fav bothy, one on a cliff near Arisaig,(non MBA), and Oban.

Oh they were so cold. The stream had swollen in the rain so I had to go in up to my shins on the first walk in. Uh, the soggy-footed sadness.

It's not bad place to be snowed in (Especially if you have coal with you). I think I'll be heading back there in Winter on the off-chance I get lucky and get some snow again!
