Last week my family decided that it was time for another holiday away from home, this time, not even technically part of the mainland of Australia! In this video we find myself situated over on Stradbroke Island at Point Lookout, which is a 45 minute ferry boat trip over to Dunwich from the mainland of the Redlands Coast, Cleveland and then another 20 minutes up to Point Lookout. When we arrived over on Thursday afternoon, I had expected that there would be no bins out seeing as on the councils website it had stated bin collection day was Monday, and whether they be of wheelie or skip bins.On Friday morning at about 8 i woke up and saw from my apartments bedroom window a distant Sideloader servicing a Surf club's three park litter and commercial bins. So I raced over, but with no luck of finding it and after driving around for quite some time then I found a second truck, but this time a Big 40m3 monster Front Lift.
Without further ado, my gut instinct was telling me that I at least should get at least some type of footage of how the islands garbage is collected. I immediately drove around to follow this truck and get it picking up at a few shops and also got a few driveby's of it, so I hope this should suffice if until I make a further return next time (and I would be sure to try and book it around Monday to increase my chances of seeing and capturing both side lift and front lift trucks for in the future to possibly come).
