Hi Froggy. Nicely done. In one of your prevous videos you used the naniwa 5000. How does the shapton 5000 compare to the naniwa 5000? Have a good evening
Thx mate! As much as I was impressed by the Naniwa 1k, I wasn't impressed much with the Naniwa 5K. I found it to be not as good as the shapton 5K. The shapton 5k is magical, very consistent.
Thx Michael for the support! Great question as it's crucial to clean your base stone after each nagura. If not you'd be mixing the slurry with the next Nagura and therefore change the grit and your grit progression would then be inaccurate. After each nagura I apply a little bit of water to remove the remaining slurry (and metal dust) and then put another small layer of clean water to build next slurry.
@@FroggyShave thank you for clarifying; I was just a little confused when I saw the jumps from one nagura to another. I hope you are doing well & I cannot wait to see what else you have lined up.
@@Michael.Nelson thx mate 👍 You can see actually on other older videos the full steps with naguras, I just wanted to reduce the length of the video here.
@@FroggyShave that is fair & understandable! You have aided me greatly with my sharpening journey, I now have a fine selection of Nagura, Jnats, European Stones and synthetics.
