Great vid. I have an ILR stone. I also have a number of Jnats and coticules. A little disappointing ILR is not responding to your emails. The ILR has been a good stone to have in the rotation for a couple of years I've owned it. Good to see some new reviews on the stone.

After being mesmerised and made hungry by your cajun cooking 🍳. Now you're proving to be a shaving alchemist! ....is there no end to your talents Eric . Deer tallow soap ! Wow , fabulous lather . I can't comment on ILR's wish I owned one .

Thanks Matin, cooking is my passion, everything else is a hobby or distraction. I was lucky enough to get an ILR to try from a friend, still testing it, very early in the process. Thanks for watching.

Now I’m hungry for some shrimps. I like that blue Collins scales. It’s always fun trying new edges out of new stones.

I need to make another batch, I have some beef tallow and palm oil soap, a bunch. But it’s not for everyone. I have a couple weeks home, I will whip up another batch of the good stuff 🤣. I will let you know

It’s pure grain alcohol, a little witch hazel and fragrance and there you go!

Great shave! I haven't been tempted to try the ILR, mostly because I hear about its great value not its unique edge. As an owner of Jnats, well, I'm already not saving any money :) Love that you make your own soap, but that shrimp creole you mentioned caused me to pause and get dinner. Love the food in your region of the country. Lastly, I forced myself through left-handed shaving about 12 years ago. It's worth it.

I wanted to give it a try, as I said in the video it’s not something that gives me more than I already have. I am very tempted to purchase one to convex, I really don’t want to convex on of my other finishers. The ILR would be a cheaper option, and it’s plenty hard enough not to need much maintenance. Food down here is a blessing and a curse 🤣😜

@@BigEShaves Making it convex really leans into the value side. That makes a lot of sense. As for the food ... On my visits to your state I have partaken greatly and have been heavily cursed :)

Nice shave, I love my ILR I use Dr Matt's technique and get great results usually Naniwa 5k,8k and finish ILR. I find for best results to lap prior to use. I strop on fire hose usually 50 and 100 on buffalo hyde. Loved deer tallow soaps. I can recommend also any soap with donkey milk especially French soaps. Very best regards Gordon.

I rarely go that high on a synthetic, but it did well off of a Coti. Next up I will test it off of a a synthetic progression. Thanks for earthing Gordon, now I guess I need to look got a French donkey milk soap. Any recommendations?

@BigEShaves La savonniere du Moulin fabulous soap. They have their own donkey farm. I haven't tried coticules yet.

Nice shave. I haven’t tried an ILR yet. Eventually I’d like to. I’m a big fan of Dragon’s Blood scents. Haven’t tried TRC’s.

It’s not a common scent, it’s robust and spicy, but I do enjoy it. I can’t wait to try the new one just ordered 😜.

Hi Eric. Nice shave. Can you maybe cut my grass 🙂 just kidding. Wanted to ask. Modern production razors. Do you like this aust or the TI better? Have a good rest of your weekend
@BigEShaves
@BigEShaves 15 дней назад
I wish you would not ask me to pick one 🤣. I hate to sit on the fence but they are a pretty much a push when it comes to shave comfort. As for a bang for your $buck$ , probably the TI.

May and June is when I stock up on shrimp. When the inland water season opens, prices drop and I stock the freezer. Thanks for watching, just watched your last one. I love those old vintage blades
