Straight Razor; thesuperiorshave.com/product/wacker-best-tradition-1031-straight-razor-birch/ The best shaving edge in the world can only do so much against follicles of coarse hair!
in my experience Germans are always super nice like that, once you get to know them...just don't do a bit trying to earn a laugh. I'm sure on some level, they want to...but it isn't their way ;-)
The father and son team of Wacker make great razors. I have several of their razors and love them. By the way, was the Clubman you used your favorite scent of Lilac and Vegetal?
ha! no, this was the old original Clubman, the one that makes me think of my barber I'd ride my bike 5mi. to in old Jax Beach in the 1980s who finished my neck and sideburns with a straight razor and a liberal dose of this stuff. I'm comin' around on the Vegetal, though (and a vegetal-smelling Scotch whisky's never been one I disliked)
Very small knot [20mm] + quite a hard soap texture (not milled but cured over one month, much much denser than 'croaps') + poor initial loading effort. Could've done better there with a big knot and taking time to really gorge. I do want to use the least soap I can in any case every shave, as what you wash down the basin at the end you bought, and this particular soap isn't cheap both by buy-in and per-session.
