I get my whole team to run around the building before starting the morning meeting. That was an interesting buy in , especially with neighbors wondering what we are doing. The days it hasn't happened, I'll hear comments like I miss the run

Comparison is the thief of Joy- More people in business should remember that ( personally as well )Stay your course, add good input from other firms and your own people as you can.

Another great video, thank you! I have a question for you, what do you discuss at your morning meetings to help keep them relevant? Especially if there’s people from different departments.

I've been a lean enthusiast for many years and I've never seen such a lean and entertaining source of information. The vibe is great, the content and explanations are spot on. Very well done. I'm glad I found this channel

Definitely one of your most profound episodes. So many gems, engagement, recruitment, SOPs (we love them!), creativity vs standardisation, PACKED!

👍 for consistently making such great content! I am just starting to turn my Dry Cleaning business lean. I decided to start with inventory. not sure yet if that's a great place lol. I have some veterans in the business so im not trying to sell them hard on being lean yet. I figure if I just start making undeniable improvements first they won't be able to help but be on board cause it makes no sense to go back to doing it unorganized. fingers crossed :cheers from California

Realizing that you can't "push" Lean into your team is a great start. Your definitely on the right track! My recommendation would be to find a sensei. The Lean community is full of people who have already done this and can give you guidance.

Do you guys think you could talk about how a leader who doesn’t understand respect for others could misuse things like standard work and the daily meeting? We keep running into managers who f.e. try to use standard work to manipulate people instead of get their buy-in, and our people can smell it from a mile away.

I'm struggling with lean because I'm only a supervisor, and even though my team is the most efficient and consistent. The managers would rather manage with firefighting and bandages.

It does make it harder when you don't have management support. Make no mistake, harder doesn't mean impossible. Keep doing what your doing! Over time they will see the results of what your doing and start to come around.

Why you don't do morning meetings on Friday? What do you do instead?

For 7 years we did the mm 5 days per week, our CI culture is now strong , we decided to move to 4 days per week and finish a little earlier on Fridays.
