Is nobody gonna note J's editing GENIUS on that segment from 8:35? Using the OFF soundtrack to perfectly convey the completely wild turn into chaos as the raft starts flailing in the sky was comedic perfection. It was a battle with a terrifyingly confusing foe, during a thunderstorm, in the middle of the sea.

Nurse sharks are nice, some have even been found being pet like dogs and remembering who pet them for future dives years later. Great whites are walking nuclear warheads you shouldn't get near. But if you do, here's the shark cheat code: Flip. Them. Over. Yes I'm not kidding. It's called tonic immobility, sharks go full stupid ragdoll if flipped. I've heard this isn't a perfect method though, if they're already going full tilt then it won't stick, but your shark attack is more than likely a test bite so it has better odds

Holy shit, I forgot about this game. This was right at the cusp of all those survival games that started showing up in this huge wave. The Forest, this game, there's one I'm forgetting somehow... Minecraft was way earlier, so it wasn't that. I think Green Hell is the one I'm thinking off.

Honestly that "meg" is actually pretty big. It's bigger than the actual Megalodons in ARK: Survival Evolved. It might not look that impressive, but people forget that actual estimates for prehistoric critters are often way out of proportion either due to lack of material or due to excited paleontologists blowing things way out of proportion.

I think the most suspenseful part was whether the raft was going to be in one piece

I think the whole 'fear of sharks' thing is 100% justified. Like, yes, they're harmless most of the time, but if they decide to take a bite out of you while you're in the water, you're thoroughly fucked. Short of gouging their eyes or tearing at their gills with your hands, you are completely at their mercy.

first time I ever played this it was dark and it was 2 AM. I left the starter island and it started raining halfway to the nearest island. Then it turned night. Then my raft was flipped by a shark... I almost cried I was so scared.
