I just bought my very first car ever at 19 years old. It’s the 2024 Chevy trax and I absolutely love it. I am from Canada so I don’t know how much it would be in America but it’s definitely an affordable car… good on gas etc
I think the Honda Civic would be a great starter car for Ellie. Hondas are very reliable and last for so long. If you’d like to keep looking around Accords are great too. She can always upgrade later on when she has more experience and money to invest into it. I agree with the payments being way too high for a teenager. Especially with inflation and everything being so high now.
You should sit down with Emma and Ellie and watch some Dave Ramsey videos, mainly the ones about cars and car payments!! Maybe it’ll get Ellie to see why an expensive car payment will only keep her buckled down in life with payments. Especially since she wants to lead a more normal life of working and not posting on social media. It’s really informative and he explains everything in a way that’s really understandable. He also shares many people’s stories who have gotten out of debt and are living debt free lives. As a normal person who doesn’t post on social media, it’s amazing information!!

Getting stranded unexpectedly is not fun I can relate to that. I was in NYC during the winter and we had a huge snow storm in 2001. I was there for 3-4 days.
Exactly why my mom always told me to pack an extra outfit/pjs/undergarments in my carryon/duffel bag just in case we either get stranded or our luggage gets lost/stolen 🤦🏾♀️

Once I got a car and a stable job, I paid for my own insurance and car bill. They told me this is responsibility. I didn't get my first car until I was 17 years old. My first car was from a good neighbor that we knew, took really good care of the car. Now, I no longer have that car. Good luck on the car shopping, and I'm glad that Emma is back.
We just bought my daughter a car. It wasn’t new, but it was from someone we knew, knew it was well taken care of. We paid cash, so she won’t have a car note, and only has to have liability insurance. So it’s $200/month compared to $500/month.
There’s only so many pilots to fly these planes and once everything is thrown off schedule it’s almost impossible to get enough help. That’s why I prefer to just drive if possible, airports are such a pain. Glad you finally got back safe. Also if you ever need to rent a car go to U-Haul. You only have to be 18 and you could get a small truck or van to drive home
I had a similar experience to Emma. I was in Atlanta for a cheer competition with my mom and sister we were moving hotels to be closer to the airport the night before our flight back home and the flight was cancelled from Atlanta to Houston because of the freeze a few years back. Our flight was cancelled and rescheduled three times, we were stuck in Atlanta for an extra 5 days
My parents own a body shop and towing company. Thankfully I’ve never had to pay a car payment because we sometimes end up with vehicles so they fix them up.

You should look at Toyota. Highly reliable and they have certified pre owned which has warranty for some things. Maintenance is on the cheaper side. I got my Corolla pre owned at 35000 and still drives the same. About to hit 100000
I agree you girls did what was right for both of you and at the end of the day stuff worked out the way it worked out and work is work and sometimes you gotta say yes and if stuff doesn’t work out at the end of the day then you just gotta switch it up and find another alternative and luckily you guys both had someone you had your boyfriend, Emma, and then Casey had her sister so at the end of the day you guys both worked it out but at least you are not by yourself on the bright side but so happy you’re home and you guys arrived home safely but at least you guys got to explore LA for one more day extra and you guys got to explore Atlanta But definitely a mess. I didn’t know too much about what was going on, but yes, prayers to everyone to make it home or to their destination safe.

It’s funny how people can click and watch maybe 2 videos of a family channel and jump to conclusion when they don’t even know the person. Like if you watched like 2 seconds of Emma, you would know instantly she’s a sane person. She wouldn’t go out of her way to invite her boyfriend and cancel on her best friend . Even on top of that, Emma was on the fence even introducing her boy friend to begin with because the amount of knit picking judgement she receives so why would she announce that her boyfriend was coming to see her in California if there wasn’t clear intention.

Watch them get a lease for Elli and she ends up totaling the car. Then what are you going to do? You don’t own the car when you lease. It’s basically a 3 year rental. My first car was a lease and it was the best decision my parents made for me. Glad you are going what’s best for your family. Used cars end up being a money dump in the long run. This way you are setting her up for safety and responsibility. Love your vids!!
It depends where you get it, I had a used car as my first and it last me for a long time !!!! It's was 2006 Kia spectra and no regrets but upgraded when I had kids
They are not used they have never been worn. They are lower than what they are selling for so no you couldn’t get them brand new cheaper. Fakes maybe but not real one.
