@@12footchain Wanna go out, baby, too late at night. Lawdy mama, no need to worry. Wanna go out, baby, too late at night. I got a real funny feelin' You're gonna treat your daddy right. Love these lessons! Thanks for doing what you do.
Having a miserable time in boarding school in early 1968 when I first heard this and it just blew my mind - but I didn’t know why. I had to find out why this and Hendrix’s Red House were so compelling and that has taken me on a life long blues journey. Although I know Eric basically stole the whole thing, I’m still inspired by its near perfection.
Do you realize that every guitarist borrows from things they heard even Hendrix? What makes the great ones like Clapton ,Hendrix SRV is that they make the songs their own!
Basically everything that everyone has done, has already been done or invented. Even including the gods of rock n roll like Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Dominos, etc.. Chuck Berry once said "We ain't doing anything that Mozart ain't already done" and like, it's true man. Even Mozart had his influences.
Thanks for explaining this song and not rushing through it. When you play something slow enough, not only is it easier to see how to play it,but it's easier to hear how it's supposed to sound.
Hi, this is beyond my skill level, but I really enjoyed your analysis and enthusiasm for this incredible song. I have lots of homework to do before (if?) I ever get to this level. Learning the scale is the first step, plus practice, practice, practice. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Gotta pay your dues, if you want to play the blues. A thousand mile journey starts with a single step. I’m out of cliches! Thanks for all of your excellent lessons. I enjoy your laid back, conversational approach. Very relaxed, very natural. I’m biased, but the music from the Sixties is the best!
Here’s an odd one you might consider for a lesson, Savoy Browns “She’s got a ring in his nose and a ring on her hand”. I think I have it figured out but would love to see your take on it. The solo is short and sweet. I think the tone you are getting with the new Marshall would suit it. Really appreciate your lessons, your insights are spot on.
My big sister had this record and I listened to Disraeli gears a lot (much older now). You bring out the nuances of the bends and fingerings. (The Hendrix chord is called E#9, sharp nine).
Me thinks the long wait, and the Mastering of the fingers perhaps ;-) were worth it. That tone is something else and you friend, now own it. Really enjoying your teaching style and material it is like quickly learning a new song with your buddies at the rehearsal space. Lay out the structure, explain any tricks and off we go!
That little riff you described as " a little bumpy" is a lot bumpy for me. I have been adding in a few extra percussive notes for the longest time. So to play like the record I have to re- learn it. Less is more.. Thanks so much for the lesson, and Gratz on your new gear. You nailed the tone of the record. Peace.
I've Always wanted to Learn and Perform this as well as BADGE!! Thanks!! A Possible Suggestion, The Waterboys: This Is The Sea - I Think it Might be in DADGAD....? It Sounds like an Open Tuning Possibly, and the REMASTERED Album Version sounds like there is a 12 String, as well. There is a Good Current Live Video Version on You Tube. I'm INTENSELY DRAWN to this Song for some reason. Appreciate Your Sharing these Lessons with us.
I want to do this live with / in my blues trio, so this is very helpful. Really looking forward to present our 15 minute Cream Session at the end of this month 🙂 Thank you very much for sharing... I might come back for some more 'goodies' - including visits to your Patreon site...
Great video. Ending chord (dissident) is Cmaj7\G (when played on 3rd fret). You’re right very cool sound. Well trained ear hearing that. 👍 Damn! now I have to look at all your vids 😅 and learn everything 😮
Dude, first of all, great tone! Also, I have Doug Grimes' book for Disraeli Gears, but I much prefer your take on most of the points. Thank you for sharing.
Dude, that Gibson in my opinion is the best looking one ever in its class. I have a 65 SG which I gave an overhaul [don't care if it lessens the value, it is a madman which plays better than ever with the gear installed],,, great lesson, great stuff!
Awesome. I love love love SGs. I love their balance point when you sit with them, love the neck / high fret access, they are light, thin, amazing tone. So versatile
This is a great video! It’s helped me better master the minor pentatonic scale through practical applications. I don’t own a Marshall or a SG but I appreciate your elucidating the settings. I can mix my TS9, Blues Jr and Epi Casino to get an approximation. Thanks!
As I am Brazilian and here we are used to complex and strange chords in our music, I believe that this strange chord you are demonstrating could be a C with an augmented seventh (or major seventh) but with the bass in G, or C7+
not sure, I don't think it's that, I feel like I hear the open A string in there. good point though, the way i have it it is basically a Cmaj7 with an open A. but within the context of an A based 1/4/5 I feel like it's some kind of A modified chord name, but who knows
YESSS...and that my friend is the real MacClapton if there ever was one....bluepeint to all minor pentatonic blues gutar.....AND totally MY thing..... i love my strat...but humbucking gibsons are the proper sound.....hahaa.. thx mate...and cheers...love it.
Chord names...come on, man. #9 chords. They aren't considered minor chords due to having a major 3rd in the mix. It's a tension. More RU-vid misinformation that will end up being gospel if enough people watch. Fantastic.
Hey, perhaps a video on the FREYETTE and what was the Other one..??? PF100??? I'm Contemplating what to get in this Category. The FREYETTE is really up there, for me - I mean that usually my Limit on a Guitar - I did that with First Ever, Fender Player Series LEFTY STRAT in Tidepool Blue - and I really Love it, it's the Dominant Sound I want and the Neck Fits my head, the best I've ever had. So, I'm hoping for something Half or Less, than the FREYETTE. Just a Thought....
With the SG …that trill roll off well for me ring finger on the B string pull of slightly you got that perfect ..love yr tutelage …I’m picky with these types of channels yours my friend …I watch subscribed enjoy …I thank you🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻..Ps older guy 68 playing a long time ….man I miss my 50 watt plexi …68….if I only knew 😂
I thunk that final chord is an A9 Not hearing that low G note in there........try this. It's like a Cm7 with the 5th and 1st strings open. 6 - x 5 - open 4 - 5th 3 - 4th 2 - 5th 1 - open
While it's nice to hear a young Clapton channeling Albert King, Felix Pappalardi deserves the most of the credit for this tune. It was a snooze-fest before he reworked the melody and lyrics.
@@12footchain hey buddy, I watch most of your videos! I am retired so my career now is a solo classic rock performer! I play about half or more of the tunes you show so I always watch to see if there’s any tips or licks to help me improve! Good to see you love the same music as me and keep it alive!
