Strange! Deadly Virus That Transmit Between People Through Phone Calls! 

As someone who hates talking on the phone with the phone to my head..... I'd probably be immune to this for a good long while.

John Cusack as an adult is always the exhusband or estranged father who dies in the "he's trapped forever, the escape was an illusion" ending. Lol Talk about being typecast.

This is one of those stories that works far better set in the time it was written. The book came out before smart phones, and thus before texting was anywhere near as popular as it was by 2016. In an actual 2016 airport, most of those people would be texting, or just scrolling through the internet.

After Clay (Cussck) and Tom (Jackson) escaped from the zombies, they found a hotel to hide out, and Clay picked the room 1408 even when Tom told him that is probably not a good idea… and y’all know the rest of that story…

Sounds like everyone's happy in their dream-like state at the end, so maybe becoming a phone zombie is not so bad.

I just ignore calls. I'd be fine. Edit: well damn. They left out everything that made the book great. Alice was such a badass, and her death was gutwrenching. The prep school headmaster is murdered by the hive mind while everyone is sleeping. And the end is actually painfully hopeful. Johnny, fo fo you.

I remember watching this and it finally dawned on me that Alice is the same actress from Orphan

R.I.P to that couple on the motorcycle they were just tryna get some food they did not deserve that.

It's too bad that this movie was so bad, because the book was AMAZING. Especially, since part of the story took place in my home town. Sadly, in the book, my entire city was engulfed in flames lol

the book was so good i read it 10x as a child. Shame this movie has literally nothing in common with the book other than cellphones. It butchers everything even the main characters. I'd love how Tom is meant to be an obese, awkward, friendly, OCD-tend gay man yet played by sam.... The schoolteacher died of suicide! Alice's death was gutwrenching and out of nowhere and done simply by two shithead kids in a car throwing bricks. They were calling her names and one brick took half her skull off. She was 14! Clay gets home to find his son zombified but not attacking him and everyone else fucking dies! This book was no bullshit

Reminds me of that DC comics series where they looked at the screens and turned into zombies.

So why didn't Clay just write an ending like, "The night traveler appeared in front of me while I was peeing but when he saw my huge monster 🐓 he realized how beta as funk he was. He took out a special night traveler gun and blew his brains out ...but not before bowing down to my huge manly 🐓. The end."

It's always interesting to see movies like you'd that take something benign that is becoming more widespread any popular and turn it into a dangerous and deadly situation.

I'd probably be like "oh fuck!" And throw my phone away if I saw it happening, but then I'd be like "eh, well it can't be so bad" and pick it back up about 10 minutes later just because of boredom, wouldn't even be worth it
