We're getting spicy graphics updates and more importantly: Some REALLY big AI improvements! forum.enlisted.net/en/t/new-graphical-improvements/148767 forum.enlisted.net/en/t/more-realistic-vehicle-tracks/148827 0:00 Intro Summary 0:29 Graphic Improvements 9:43 AI Improvements
I will never understand why they put so much effort into graphics. The game looks fine. Fix the major issues, AI refusing to fire their weapons, AI getting stuck trying to navigate basic terrain, AI not reloading when they have 1 bullet left in the mag, and so on. I haven’t heard a single person complain about the visuals of enlisted only the AI.
Their reasoning is that "there are several dev teams working on different stuff". Which makes sense, but also begs the question: can't they move some workers from one team to another if needed (in this case, devs from the "graphics team" to the "gameplay team")?
@@EclipseZer0having worked in software development, for military contractor. It takes significant amount of effort to move developers in between teams, especially to/from graphs. Not as simple as just telling a developer to start working on some new code. Basically about as much effort as getting new a developer, all for someone who would probably be needed back in their original position before retraining is done. At least that was my experience.
I think with the graphics, all they have to do is make it less vibrant and make it more grey so it looks more serious and gritty. Graphics are fine, colour palette is problem.
Its because either something in the games core wont allow them to fix it or they are lazy. EVERYONE has complained about the AI for years and the devs dont care
This is great, now they just need to fix the human bots and we'll be golden! I'll kid you not, before I ragequit 30 minutes ago I had some schmuck teabag in front of my AT gun so I couldn't shoot the enemy tanks. He did that for like 10 minutes, literally unplayable - if I did that I'd get sniped in 5 seconds.
2:02 All of the examples of the mg34 I could find, both historical and surviving examples, appear to have a slightly reflective polished finish. I don't know why the devs thought a dull matte finish would look more realistic on that gun.
Keep in mind most "collectors" keep the guns in immaculate condition most gun metal isn't really polished and is more matte. It's stamped steel without extensive polishing it's never gonna be that reflective. The m3 smg is made of the same stamping technology for a comparison.
@TheAngelobarker I think you are correct, but all the photos of the mg34, both from wartime, and surviving modern examples, seem to at least have been polished from production. Wear over time could heavily reduce that reflective sheen, making used mg's much more matte. In a battle setting, you probably couldn't expect your mg to remain shiny for too long, so maybe the matte finish is more historically accurate.
@@FarmerClarence I'd say a part of that is Photography bias, Making sure your pretty guns are nice for the camera. Not only that but also taking into account the production and materials quality itself varies wildly throughout the war and the examples that ended up on display are more likely to be copies that never saw frontline action, some may never have had armorers modifications, some may have simply been factory showpieces and demonstration models. Just some food for thought.
The bots waste too many tickets already also That means less squads capping the objective one of the bots few redeeming qualities. They need the bots not to use tanks only if a player in the the 3 spot chooses them to do so.
My AI always gets mowed down, point blank even, with plenty of time to react. I rarely see them do anything. I do hope it gets better, they seem like little more than set dressing right now. If they had a sphere around them to detect when they are getting shot at, and react with any amount of accuracy, that would be agood start.
Great, instead of focussing anticheat or better replays they improve ai, wich makes it even harder to prove somebody is cheating, especially with the glitchy replay system
The bots will smack you into the ground. I thought there was a player eng buulding something and i had run out of ammo and was just running around slicing people. I watched him for a minute from around a corner until he turned around and i sprinted up to him, he instantly turned around and he buttstroked me and killed me. On the replay, it was a bot.
The issue is, AI is terrible and until the devs stop being lazy and actually buckle down, focus on a MAJOR update fixing AI, any addition to AI playing roles will make the game worst. If AI is this dumb now, imagine bots driving tanks and getting stopped, all the while wasting your tickets. Smh what this game needs is a major update for AI, a way for players to either pick game modes or maps (which i wild they have everything so randomized), and new weapon sounds/animations.
They added FXAA to all options, the TAA was already there, it's not a before or after it's simply an illustration that FXAA is in most cases very comparable to TAA, which you have proven. And yes, the MG wouldn't be looking like a mirror you can see all reflections in as with most surfaces in wartime. 🙄
The ai are so dumb. Tell them to stay on the 2nd floor and istead they go on the roof during a artillery strike. The after picture looks better imo. Glossy is goofy and requires more computing power. 10:25 if you walk into a room with 7 men you should get quickly killed 14:25 i leave matches because the team sucks
3:39 The Before is definitely more realistic, but I think the After will be better for gameplay. I'm so tired of trying to storm an objective with shitty lighting and you can't see the enemies on the objective but they can you see you running up from 300m away. A few buildings/structures in particular are especially bad, like the caves in the Pacific.
12:32 I just wish my bots would actually fire their weapons when there's a massive group of enemies running past my position. Why tf am I the only one shooting???
@@emanueljames7801 I think "AI is very hard" is a bad excuse for Enlisted. In Gates of Hell Ostfront you can take direct control and play in first/third person. You can absolutely take out the AI with ease this way but you also can't walk into a room full of them with a bolt action rifle and pick off 8 of them one by one in rapid succession. You might get one or two, but you will definitely get gunned down.
@@wmouse it’s definitely one of the most challenging to do I’m not sure if ai coding in one game will work in another. I think the core of it you think the ai should be better then it is rn. And I agree
@@emanueljames7801 You don't have to make some insane AI if you just tune the game to work well with simpler AI. If people complain about being 360 no-scoped by AI from 500 meters away, the problem isn't necessarily the AI. The problem is that bolt action rifles are laser accurate instakills at all ranges. Just make bolt actions less accurate and make them require 2 hits to kill. Remove headshots completely but make getting shot slow your movement down to a crawl for just long enough that you can either drop prone or risk getting hit by the follow-up shot. (This is just an example but there are tons of ways to design around the limits of AI.)
If we are talking "realism", Then the "after" picture does look better then the "before" picture. The Before MG looks like it just got submerged in Water or Oil. The After MG looks like one would expect a MG to look like, UNPOLISHED FACTORY STEEL. I'm not saying the Before picture looks bad but it does look a little "too shiny" for a weapon that gets used. Like it _MIGHT_ look that shiny _FACTORY NEW_ , but after a while it will end up looking like the "AFTER" image. Its lost the Shine, but it still looks good.
Gun metal isn't really reflective like that in general. It's not rough per say but 99% of guns aren't polished to a mirror finish. So it is more realistic.
Yeah most guns would probably look like the MP40/M3 Grease Gun/Sten Gun realistically. Its Stamped Gun Metal, It will looks smooth but if the gun is getting ANY kind of use then its not going to keep any kind of "shine" it may have had. Due to dirty, grim, general use and firing.
@@paradivision1362 oh, and i watched your videos on how to defend and how to attack and now im getting way more success in the matches. I played 4 matches yesterday and won 3 of them. A week ago i could barely win 1/4. Im still a noob and have much to learn, but this is a good progress. Thanks for your tips
Another thing that i changed was my squad setup. Now im running assaulter/infantry/engineers/tank instead of snipers/infantry/medic/tank. I wish sniping was a good thing to do in this game, but Sadly, it is more like a waste of squad and a burden to the team since the matches are so fast paced and frenetic. Also smgs are sweet and engineers are great.
