Let's be real with ourselves. Backrooms Fart Race might be one of the best video games ever and honestly a general step forward in gaming. As someone who has over 4000 rebirths and 277 Nonillion poops, I believe I've played the game enough to understand that this is merely the tip of the iceberg for what's to come. Really excited to see games follow the Backrooms Fart Race format and flourish into something everyone can enjoy!

28:05 that's a floating point error. Basically any non-whole number stored in data is subject to rounding errors because there's only so many bits to store it in. If you move ridiculously far away from a space's origin point used to define the position of objects in the world, such as by teleporting to the edge of the renderable space, those errors compound into being very visible.

28:10 this is something that happens only when your avatar gets too far away from the center of the game. The actual distance is so huge that it is physically impossible to do without teleporting or getting flung and even with the getting flung, it is really hard to happen. Pretty much the roblox game engine breaks down and struggles to render objects properly past a certain distance, hence why his avatar looks so messed up.

It has something to do with the floating-point numbers used to calculate an entity's position, I don't remember completely, but it happens in many other games too, like Super Mario Odyssey and Minecraft Bedrock Edition. I think AntVenom made an in-depth video about the issue in Bedrock Edition.

I've seen it before in Halo as well, specifically InfernoPlus's Desert Bus map. IIRC It's something to do with vector calculations in rendering, and being so far from the zero position that every vector has minimal angular difference.

@@DessertArbiter this is to both you and anyone else interested in understanding why floating point numbers does this, pannenkoek2012 has a video called "How to Crash SM64 Using a Pendulum (Commentated)" that has some parts where he goes in depth into floating point numbers and explains it in the best way ive ever seen. Edit: it is a very long video so you COULD skip to the float rounding section but it can be confusing since you missed a lot of info and the video is a generally entertaining video anyway so i suggest watching the whole thing.

float imprecision the every multiple of 2 the precision of a decimal a float can represent is halved this becomes a problem as eventually this error becomes big enough to start skipping whole numbers causing this visual glitching @@DessertArbiter
