I never heard of this movie until I saw all the news stories about it bombing at the box office. That's why I'm here now watching the trailer for the first time. The marketing for this was beyond terrible.

Bring intelligent, more serious writing, actually beautiful songs, and traditional animation back. If Disney and DreamWorks won’t do it, someone else start. Disney has definitely lost its magic.

Its midnight and i just finished watching it and although the trailer is not well executed (lets be real), I really liked it. I might give it another watch in the morning just to know if i'm just tripping but as of right now, its pretty good. There's bit of the plot that may need some more in depth explanation though but otherwise, really loved the visuals and concept in this movie. Likable characters, smooth animation ugh! It has potential. I just wish it has been advertised more by Disney.

This feels like a 2022 young Hollywood writers room went and put themselves in a movie. I'm sure it's going to be fun for their immediate families to watch.

All this movie makes me wanna do is watch Treasure Planet. You know Disney, it'd be nice if you did some cartoon animations once in a while. Dreamworks and Pixar styled movies are great I love them the 3D animations, but Disney I feel like honestly ur way more well known for cartoon styled animation. Seriously I feel like this movie would've been so much better had it been cartoon drawn animation because it would've looked more appealing overall!

I hope Disney makes more movies like this, so they ultimately will go out of Biz!

I love the part where the Dead dad busts in and says: "It's Dadding time" and Dads all over the monster, truly one of the moments of all time.

This looks like something that would've come out between Atlantis and Treasure Planet. would honestly love to see Disney take some more risks on projects like this more often, looks really creative.

I can see where people are drawing the Treasure Planet comparisons, I'm definitely getting those vibes as it's a big sci-fi adventure and there's probably a lot of lore in the setting. How did I see zero promotion for this movie at all, Disney?

Turning Red, Encanto, and then this? Disney is really doing a great job of telling stories about breaking generational trauma and expectations. I love how today’s generation have stories like these :)

I loved the part when everyone starts singing "We don't talk about Bruno" but turns out Héctor was Miguel's great grandfather.

I understand the negative reactions to the trailer since it reveals a lot but I just watched the movie and I actually really enjoyed it. The story about the three generations coming together is really heartwarming and over all, the movie has has a great message, too. Also, the animation is incredible.

This definitely looks good, no doubt, but I really hope one day we get another hand drawn Disney movie again!!!

Yes the teailer spoils little important bits I think but I won't complain, this movie actually sounds like it would be nice to watch with friends or family ngl

I really like how they have some voice lines visibly not syncing up with the character animations in the trailer. It's the next step in the evolution of ADR. Once they just inserted the voice clip when the character wasn't on-screen, now they don't even care anymore.

It could be one of the best Disney movies. Awesome animation, excellent storyline. But unfortunatelly due to well known reasons it's one of the worst movies.

I'm glad we're finally getting more animated movies from Disney. I was getting worried that they'd just keeping making live action remakes forever (which they'll probably still do, but at least we'll get things like this in between).

After seeing some of their movies lately, I'm not so sure I want to get excited for this.

I liked the bit where he popped the blue pill and yelled 'hold onto your hat, I'm coming in raw' Stunning and brave bedroom scene. I literally cried.

Look, honestly? I loved it. It‘s about finding your passion and dealing with environmental changes and while the cast may be diverse, they are depicted that way without it influencing the plot. I mean, the bonding scene between the son and the grandfather is like: „Well, hello grandson, nice to meet you. Oh, there‘s someone you like? Fighting monsters is a good strategy to impress them“ „Ah, grandpa, I don‘t want to fight monsters, so no thank you. Want to play cards?“ If you are thinking of watching it, I do suggest you try, as I honestly enjoyed it. Form your own opinion.

I absolutely love the animation art style here! It looks visually beautiful. The characters movements feels straight out of a 2D animated feature film. That’s really impressive. And i love Sci-Fi stories so that’s a plus. Well done, Walt Disney Animation Studios. Can’t wait to see this movie 🍿

Love the part where Quasimodo changes the light bulb and cries out "yippee yay yay Schweinebacke" in deep bavarian german, while Frank the Tank empties one of the go'ol Rich Piana 5%er piss jugs with a encouraging "I'm your father Thomas the Tank engine!" Seriously one of movies of time. I crieded.

The designs of some of the characters, especially the MC's, remind me of Hotel Transylvania. It's the eyes, vertical oval shape and how close together the eyes are.

I just watched this movie. It was a decently good movie with a good meaning behind it. The gay teenage boys threw me off a little. Not because of gay but because I haven't seen that in a family animation before. The world's changing and ya know what. That's ok.

Glad to see Jake and Dennis take on more voice roles. They have the perfect voices for animation and comedy.

The trailer looks actually nice. I haven't followed Disney much, but from what I've heard you put too much focus on the representation aspect and not enough on the actual plot. I think you could've made quite a bit more money if the marketing had addressed all aspects of the movie about evenly.

Man it sure would have been interesting if they went way further with the pulp adventure/horror aesthetic and wrote the characters accordingly.

Ok I just came back from watching this movie and it just feels so good. The graphics are beautiful, the characters are done well, and the relationships especially were so heartfelt. The fledgling crush at the beginning is absolutely adorable. More than anything I love this trend of movies focusing on family bonds and healing - think the only one I can name off the top of my head is Lilo and Stitch 🥲 But now there are more! And I'm so happy that kids today get to really see it. Wonderful movie, 10/10 👏🏾👏🏾

It's weird to think how hated Disney is now. What a shame.

I grew up trusting that, in all the madness of the world, at least Disney movies could be somewhat trusted for an entertaining story with positive messaging for kids (without forced or hidden agendas or propaganda). I was actually very shocked when I took my young (8 year old) daughter to see this at the cinemas. Very early on the film we were bombarded with aggressive messaging regarding inter-race relationships, gay relationships at a young age, etc. Our family is very much supportive of equality, inclusion and moreover, never judging someone on appearance, denomination, etc, aside from their actions and character; However, the way in which these 'topical' themes were blatantly thrust in our faces (even in such a way that actually overshadowed the overall story, which I thought could have carried a positive message in itself) was sickening. The fact that I can no longer trust Disney not to taint our children with latent social/political agendas is a very sad sign of our times. I assume they were either under pressure or were led by 'politicians' seeking cheap internally favorable credit by pandering to the very small but outspoken and radically disposed cross-section of the community. Again, I am all for equality and equal opportunities - but I resent the way in which society is being manipulated into forcing EQUAL OUTCOMES or EQUAL REPRESENTATION in every given scenario. It just isn't realistic and skews reality and the perception of natural human dynamics for young people. Maybe that is why we are seeing so many mental health related issues in the younger generation these days - I don't know for sure but it begs some analysis. Despite being personally apolitical and not adhering to any specific trend or ideology (aside from just trying to support the greater good and be a decent person), I believe this problem overall is compounded by the fact (from what I can see) that the 'right' leaning groups are extremely constrained and persecuted for what they express and how they express it (and the consequences - i.e. in the case of political figures, celebrities, etc, who express view which could be construed as 'right wing'); WHEREAS the 'left' leaning sections of society are completely unrestrained, ungoverned, and cannot be told to 'stop' where they themselves cross the line. This inequality presents a very dangerous social atmosphere which, in not regulated and stretched too far, can 'snap back' in disruptive ways. The riots, etc, in the US (I'm not an expert and don't live there - for disclosure) are probably an indicator of this paradigm. In summary, I really think we need to regulate, and support, BOTH SIDES of society equally and cease this irrational and aggressively driven promotion of lifestyles and social representations which are attributable to such an extremely minute percentage of the population in popular media. Failing to do this may have a significant adverse effect on the natural environmental development of our children. Let's teach them tolerance, acceptance and equality of OPPORTUNITIES (not OUTCOMES or REPRESENTATION) and not force-feed them an abstract reality please. Sorry for this rant, but my views on this have been building up over time and I feel this in an appropriate forum to express them in a way which I hope is acceptable.

It would be really cool to see Disney do a full length move, done in traditional hand drawn cell animation.

I like the parts where Silver morally supports Jim, thereby replacing his father and helping him survive childhood trauma.

Just finished watching the full movie. It's like if Treasure Planet, Inner Space and Discworld had a mutant baby... but I kinda liked it. Certainly not great by any means, but not as terrible as people made it out to be.

I miss the 2D animation so much, that's why I watch so many old Disney movies, but this one definitely looks amazing. I can't wait to watch it!

This movie looks GREAT! I'm definitely gonna see it in cinemas. But I just think Disney should have marketed it more. I also like of how every single creature in Strange World(Besides the humans and the dog) doesn't even have a face.

I’ve seen this movie in 3D yesterday and OMG!!! This movie is going to deserve to win the Oscar for the best animated feature film next year on March 2023.

Watched Disney's STRANGE WORLD. I enjoyed the story very much. If I could describe it, I'd say it's like "Journey to the Center of the Earth" meets James Cameron's "Avatar" meets Disney's "A Goofy Movie," though not as silly. 🤣

For something titled "strange" it sure looks "familiar" like a lot of other movies. Also Disney just doesn't know how to do trailers any more - I feel like I watched 90% of the movie.

i just finished the movie and it was so great and fascinating, lately, Disney's been breaking the norms and i love it

At 0:14, that gives me serious Tarzan vibes (also Coco because Hector's face from the family photo was ripped off). Also at 1:37, that fellow there definitely reminds me of Morph from Treasure Planet. I love some of these callbacks to previous Disney films (I know Coco is Pixar, but still wanted to note that similarly I saw with the compass photo). Can't wait to see another sci-fi adventure from Disney! I look forward to seeing how this world works and what this adventure is like! Also excited to know that Jake Gyllenhaal is now in a WDAS film! 😁

Dynamic worlds have already been tackled in games far more effectively than a movie ever could.

It's nice that they make everyone minorities or female and have the father be totally absent and have a scene that explains their absence. Very real I see it all the time.

Actually, the trailer doesn’t show how good the film is. I mean, it’s not the best animated film of the century, but it is really worth watching it. People just underestimate it because of the trailer
